Where is your faith? A republican president?

You know the story. The storm is raging, the waves pounding and the wind howling, but Jesus is asleep. The disciples are crying out, "We are perishing!" Jesus rises, rebukes the sea and wind, bringing immediate calm to the chaos, and then asks a heart probing, foundational question. "Where is your faith?" Where is it located at this moment? In yourself, in your condition, or is it SOLEY in me, the Lord God Almighty? If it IS in the right place, it will manifest itself in the appropriate response, the appropriate action.

I have to confess a burning in my heart, for it appears to me that much of the church still doesn’t get it. It IS NOT the government that determines if this is a "Christian" country, it’s not the promotion of candidates that should give voice to our convictions. It IS in how we live our lives that should show we are followers of Jesus and the preaching of the Gospel that should give voice to our convictions!

The shouting goes on…. Sarah Palin… the savior, the one who will turn this country around? No…..what’s happened in her own family? Her daughter is with a child with a guy that eventually poses for Playgirl and she goes on wanting to do a reality show? Does someone see something terribly wrong here? Is this where your faith is to see America turned around?
Mitt Romney? Placing millions of dollars in foreign banks to avoid paying taxes and guising it as something that is a simple investment and speaking something entirely different and "fighting" for the middle class. Are you serious? Is this ethical? Country above personal interests and acquired wealth? Or is it the other way?

Newt Gringrich, divorcing his first wife in his infidelity as she was with cancer, and then divorcing his second wife as she comes down with MS and now married again. His second wife testifying he wanted an "open" marriage, to have sexual relations with a mistress while married to her…and commits infidelity again. And Governor Perry is endorsing him? Are you serious? What kind of reflection is that on Perry’s standard? On the church’s standard?
Ron Paul, who has made anti Israel statements, which any Bible based believer should know that’s dangerous ground to say the least, that’s s a time bomb of God’s judgment for this nation if he follows his statements with action.

Are these who you are trusting in to "turn America around" to turn them back to God?
And it goes on….. Haven’t we been here before? (I don’t need to cross parties obviously to see whether righteousness is being promoted or not).
George W. Bush, the Christian savior for America? Why don’t you ask him about skull and crossbones secret societies or about the Bohemian Grove in California and what "secret" things go on their (abominations in the eyes of God!). A Christian? What kind of Christian are we talking about? What is our definition? Can you really serve two masters? Doesn’t Jesus say clearly you cannot? You will either love the one and hate the other.

"Who are you to judge?" No friend, it’s called discernment, God will judge, but we are to call black, black, and white, white, to declare what is righteous, otherwise you have no plumb line, you have nothing but a man who is "tossed by every wind of doctrine," one who has no foundation of rock and willingly lives out the statement of Jesus "if the blind lead the blind they both will fall into the ditch." He calls us to have our eyes open and following the truth!
The point is…. "Where is your faith?" When are we as the church going to place our faith solely in Jesus and DEMONSTRATE THAT BY OUR ACTIONS.

Let’s get real with ourselves.

You and I hold to Matthew 28:18-20, the GREAT COMMISSION, the centerpiece vision (or should be) in our churches, the subject of many a sermon.
How many disciples have I made in 2011? Have you made? In 2010? In 2009? Since Obama was in office?

A disciple should be according to Jesus, like his teacher. Are they like you? Do they use their money like you? Do they pray like you? Do they fast like you? Do they use their free time like you? Do they treat their families like you? Do they lead their families to the presence of Jesus like you? Do they know the voice of Jesus the Great Shepherd? Do they live holy? Are they filled with love and are reaching out to others with the Gospel?
If every "Spirit filled" believer just made 2 disciples every 6 months, America would be a different place. Period. With or without politics. Whoever is or will become President.
I didn’t ask what protest or what petition you signed or what you are advocating,…. How many disciples did you make this last year? That’s the COMMAND of Jesus. I’m not saying getting involved in social issues or the processing of laws is wrong, but that’s not what you are COMMANDED to do. You and I are COMMANDED to GO and MAKE DISCIPLES. If we are truly His disciples, then we will follow His example, which was pouring His few years on this earth into disciples.

Let’s get honest with God and with ourselves. "Where is my faith?"
Faith…. Is from the Word of God (Romans 10:17) and without works, it’s dead (James 2).
It’s time to shut off the football (or whatever season of sport it may be! Don’t you see it’s none stop?) Turn off the American Idol (doesn’t the title of the show sound any alarms? Are we that numb? It’s just a word right?) And live in a way that makes sense in light of Jesus’ sufferings, the book of Revelation, the wave of Islam, the death of Christians (estimated at about 1 every 3 minutes), starvation and poverty, and HELL and HEAVEN.
"How many disciples will I make in 2012 Lord?" "What will they look like?" "What will they see in my life?" "What will they imitate?"

As I leave the Mansoa hospital here in Guinea Bissau, and see a woman, basically a breathing corpse and I see her husband, a Muslim background believer trying to spoon feed her juice, that she doesn’t hardly have the strength to swallow as he holds her up with his body and nurses her, spending all of what little money to pay for anything……it hits me again. The message of American churches with all their strobe lights and worship productions and messages so much centered around "Me" and what God has for "Me" (even the message of prosperity… really? It’s not enough? You don’t have enough?) it’s no wonder God speaks so strongly to the church of Laodicea. It’s no wonder He wants to vomit her out of His mouth. It’s no wonder.
When will the church arise and make disciples, and come overseas and make disciples? It’s starts in our Jerusalem, than goes to the surrounding areas and into the world. Truly, if a follower of Christ is addicted to TV at their home in America they’ll be addicted to TV overseas. If you don’t evangelize there, you won’t evangelize anywhere (or do it minimally). You know what’s over here in the 5th poorest country in the world? Hollywood junk. Pornography straight from America. Violence and smut. Is it any wonder the world shakes its head at America? What about the Church of America? Remember friend….. before you point the finger, judgment begins in the household of God. If America is a "Christian nation" where is the salt stopping this corruption and where is the light exposing this darkness?

It’s time to cry. It’s time to rend our hearts. It’s time to bring forth the FRUITS of repentance. One is in the use of our time. How about shutting off that TV? How about taking it off the center place in our living room and putting a Bible there instead and when you feel tempted to watch it, have the family worship and declare the Word of God over your family? Is that too much?

One of the most powerful times of prayer I've experienced in my life (My wife caught the second photo as she was crying from just watching what God was doing!). Brothers from our first class praying over the 2nd and vice versa, brothers from America praying over African brothers and vice versa.

Shouts of joy and victory, coupled with tears and weeping. What a time in His presence! I have seen few times like that one with such intensity in brothers praying for each other.
O that all would have such an experience in the glory of God and feel the joy and love that comes from hearts that are given over to Jesus in holiness and truth. Father, I love these brothers with all my heart!!!

God has done great things

Thank you for those that wrote an said you would pray for us. I returned safely back with our students to a quiet house with the family all doing good. I wanted to share how God answered your prayers in part....

Your prayers were needed. I've never seen so much witchcraft in one place. Every house had idols in front of it and the amount of contracts they do to demons is astounding. They, as a result, are gripped in fear. There are constant testimonies of what someone in the west would label as "poltergeist" experiences, noises, movement, knocks on doors (with no one physically there), demon possession, constant nightmares, sudden sicknesses, sudden deaths, etc....

Apparently I've learned the Manjaku are well known through GB for how much they go to witchcraft for everything....

The first night we did an open air campaign, as I called for people to come forward in response, a man came forward and then collapsed to the ground. He got up and then collapsed again to the ground. It was obviously demonic and the students began to cast out that spirit. I sensed though the enemy wanted to draw attention to himself and away from others responding. I led the man holding him up to the back. As I came against the enemy he fell to the ground and started screaming a high pitched sound. I told the demon in English to "shut up in Jesus Name" (I'm not advocating the use of that phrase but that's what came out of my mouth.) immediately it was quiet. The man got up and I led him in a prayer of deliverance. The praise is that the enemy couldn't interfere, as 8 came forward to give their lives to Jesus.

The next day was door to door evangelism, about 8 came to Jesus, and there was some healings. One was an old woman in her 80's. She couldn't see well and was bent over in pain. A couple of the guys prayed over her and she was healed. She could see better (she was telling them how much more she could see) and the pain in her back and I believe legs left. The next day I went to see her, she still didn't give her life to Jesus. By the grace of God, her heart was opened. At first she was saying the usual, "I'm going to follow the ways of my ancestors this is what I've always believed" and so on. But she prayed out to receive Christ, and as she did her countenance changed. She kept saying over and over, "I'm so happy, I'm so happy, I'm so happy......" I just held her rejoicing with her in what God had done....

There was even a witchdoctor in the village that gave some of the guys permission to share the Gospel with his family!

Lalas and I headed to the city to evangelize for one day a part from the village. We saw a man, Pow, about 25, give his life to Jesus. His muslim friend denied grievously, but praise God, Pow prayed right out to follow Jesus now. We went on and God orchestrated us to preach the Gospel to about 15 Papel fishermen in a meeting. It was such an opportunity. As I talked about the Judgment to come, God's righteousness and how they have broken the Law, I then shared with them how they can escape the Day to come and enter into a relationship with God. I have never seen the reaction, like I saw among two of them. When I finished they were so happy to hear what God had done for them they spontaneously started to clap their hands! They caught themselves in almost embarrassment, but no one addressed it, as we sensed God was doing a deep work on all of them.

We went on to a house were a man greeted us as "those from Mansoa." When I asked how he knew that, he said he was part of the military and was there when we come every Monday night, but he lives there in Canchungo. Praise God for the opportunity to confront him more on where he stands with a decision, away from his colleagues. There was a woman in that same house that asked for prayer, she had an operation and was in chronic pain in her side. We prayed the first time and nothing happened. The second time, she kept saying, "it's going down, it's going down....." before it hurt to touch, now she was probing around, all the pain was gone, glory to God. She went and grabbed another family member in the house, and lifted her shirt to reveal a large bump sticking out of her stomach. The woman was about 25. The bump was about the size of a baseball, I'm not a doctor so I can't tell you exactly what it was. The only thing I could think was maybe a tumor. It was hard to touch, and if you lightly touched it she winced in pain. We declared healing over her in Jesus Name, and as we prayed, the pain left. She said she felt nothing. I felt the Lord impress on my heart not to be satisfied with that. We wanted it to go! We prayed again, and as we prayed I had my hand on it, I was pushing on it looking at her, but she felt no pain. As we prayed, I took my hand off, and then put it on that area again, and realized, it's not hard! I pushed, nothing was there. I told her to put her hand, she prodded around, then Lalas actually grabbed her skin there, nothing but skin! The family came by and some looked another prodded, testifying what had happened. HalleluYah! She smiled and gave God glory (she was a professed believer, but was backslidden, we used the opportunity to exhort her to get serious with God and live for Him totally.) We prayed for her again, and suddenly she almost fell to the ground as God began to touch her. After we set her down, she testified how she now felt totally fine and I sensed His peace on her. We then prayed for another woman who was instantly healed of back pain and was bending over without pain which she couldn't do before (even part way).

We went out to evangelize more, some rejected, some received, some said they needed time to think about it. God was healing bodies about every day. One of the powerful testimonies God did was in a man named Mora. Mora was what would be simply labeled as a "crazy man" you see them in about every town and village here. He hasn't talked to anyone for basically 3 years, didn't bathe, didn't change his clothes, never slept inside, always outside. If he saw people coming he would hide, if offered something he would deny. By a miracle, when we were praying at a house, he shows up! He simply agreed to accept prayer. As we prayed for him, I was filled with the heart of God for this man and grabbed his head and just cried over him, putting my head on his. After we prayed, the Lord gave him a sound mind! He began to talk freely, normally. He went up to the Pastor's wife who called us and testified that as we were praying he felt his mind come back together! Glory to the Father in Jesus Name! Please pray for Mora, to totally follow Jesus (we shared with him more but there was still fear of letting go everything,) he said he wants to follow Jesus, he prayed with us, he confessed out of his mouth, but he needs to have a renewed mind, by the Word of God. Pray for him to follow Jesus with all. Everyone we talked to whose from there, said this is a miracle, and just about everyone knows him. This could be used mightily to show them the power of Jesus. We wait to hear the report from the church there.

One of the most exciting things for me was seeing a man named Michael convert. He really got saved soundly. We baptized him before he left, and he's looking to come visit us next week and stay with us for 3 days. He has a wife and 4 kids. I believe he could be the pastor this church needs. Please say a prayer for him, there is an accord in many that he has been chosen by God to make a powerful impact on that area. he is very determined to follow Jesus.

The last night we were there, it was the biggest crowd yet. The students boldly testified to those present to follow Jesus and how God has changed them. During that time of testifying we told people who were sick or in pain to come forward that we could pray for them. To my knowledge all were immediately touched by God. When asked who was healed by God that night about 10 or so hands shut up for the glory of God. We then called for those who were of the church or had given their lives in our time with them to come forward that we can pray for them. About half came forward. We layed hands on them praying for God's fire on their lives, His glory to be revealed and for them to follow Jesus with all their hearts. I was touched by people as many times they would grab my hands and put them on their foreheads to be prayed for.... such a breakthrough we saw in the hunger, and the spirit of fear being broken.

In closing, what was most powerful to me and to the students, was not the miracles (although that was glorious!). it was when we were saying goodbye that night. It was seeing people cry, embracing us, and others saying they didn't want us to leave. It was the love they felt from us and how that love broke that spirit of fear (1 John 4:18). I felt like it was an apostolic work that God did through these students. And as it should be an apostolic work, the real evidence is like what we read in Acts, the people cried when Paul said goodbye, it is the power of love and the heart that doesn't want to see you go. By God's grace, one day we will visit them. I have a feeling, when we set up those speakers and they hear those shouts of "HalleluYah!!!!!!" they will know we've come back, and I have to believe, their will be even more that will come.....come to see Jesus.....

"You are really convinced that you've got all the answers. You've really got yourself tricked into believing that you're 100% right. Well, let me tell you just one thing. Do you consider yourself to be compassionate of other humans? If you're right, as you say you are, and you believe that, then how can you sleep at night? When you speak with me, you are speaking with someone who you believe is walking directly into eternal damnation, into an endless onslaught of horrendous pain which your 'loving' god created, yet you stand by and do nothing.

If you believed one bit that thousands every day were falling into an eternal and unchangeable fate, you should be running the streets mad with rage at their blindness. That's equivalent to standing on a street corner and watching every person that passes you walk blindly directly into the path of a bus and die, yet you stand idly by and do nothing. You're just twiddling your thumbs, happy in the knowledge that one day that 'walk' signal will shine your way across the road.

Think about it. Imagine the horrors Hell must have in store if the Bible is true. You're just going to allow that to happen and not care about saving anyone but yourself? If you're right then you're an uncaring, unemotional and purely selfish (expletive) that has no right to talk about subjects such as love and caring."

Healing power of God

I love seeing God heal, demonstrating His Kingdom and His compassion. Yesterday we (the students, my daughter and I) headed to the local hospital to pray for the sick. There were several that were laying in pain, and God healed them immediately. One man was grieving in his pain as he layed in bed and as the power of God entered his body, he rose up and when he realized what God had done began to laugh. HalleluYah! Many others saw instant relief as the pain left and they testified to what had happened in their bodies. One very devout Muslim man (you can tell by the mark on their foreheads from the number of times their head rests against the mat on the ground in prayer) was in great pain and as one of our students and leaders entered the room to ask if he wanted prayer, the people around him said no, that he was a Muslim, but then he rebuffed them, and said, "It is the same God let them pray for me." As they prayed the pain left his body and he saw first hand that he was healed in JESUS Name.

We went over to another section, as the students prayed one woman got up before unable to walk unassisted now walking on her own to exclaim of others. At that same time Abigail, Lalas and I were praying over a woman whose leg was swollen in great pain. As we prayed she said she felt the pain leaving her leg. We told her to get up and walk, she did, unassisted to which women around her were saying, "Look at her, she couldn't do that before!" And the woman testified she was doing things she couldn't do before. She kept testing it, pushing on her leg, moving it around and saying, "I couldn't do this before, I couldn't even touch this area without pain." as she kept pushing on it, shaking it and pressing it. It was a wonderful open door to demonstrate the Kingdom, to tell them Jesus loves them and to preach the Gospel. We are hungry to see more Father! Show us Your glory! Bring glory to Your Son's Name! Jesus!

Praising Him for His protection

God has graciously kept us from much harm recently. There was a lightening storm and in it, lightening struck our house, but we found out a man was killed and 20 injured not far from us.

There has been bad flooding but we have been safe...

So many have been seriously ill as different sickness have been spreading around, and we have been kept in good health.

Today as a young man (that we help financially as his father is blind) came to cut weeds that are near our house, an area the kids could play by, there was a full grown puff adder (which is responsible for the most snake bite deaths in Africa). It was enormous. In fact the first two times I swung at it with my machete it didn't penetrate it's scales (I think you would believe me when I said I swung hard too!). Finally was able to cut through near its head. We have many children here who go near that area, our God is merciful. We praise Him and we thank you for your continued prayers....

Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus is a healer

We headed out tonight to the hospital as we do each Thursday night. Each week what a joy it has been to see Jesus heal people. Tonight, it felt like a "set up" by the Holy Spirit. After we saw a man confess that the pain in his body immediately leave after we prayed, he got up (before lying in pain but now confessing the pain left!) and walked outside, and he directed us to a part of the hospital we didn't even know had people in it. When we arrived, there were 2 women lying on their beds with their family present. They were Mandinka (probably muslim) and the right away the husband said, "If you can do anything, please pray, she's been in this condition for 4 months, we've tried all kinds of medicine but nothing has helped. We just want her reunited with her family." I smiled to myself, for such a plea is perfect ground for a miracle, when only Jesus can be the answer.

We asked her if she felt pain and she said yes, and showed it was in her chest and near her stomach. We proclaimed healing over her in Jesus Name. After we prayed, we asked how she was and she said the pain went down. We asked what normally would cause her great pain and she said taking deep breathes. We set take a deep breath! She did, and then did another, and then she looked at me and smiled, and said, "There's nothing." HalleluYah! She sat up on her own and again just smiled and looked in almost disbelief, that all the pain was gone. We asked again, did she have it before we prayed and she said again, "Yes." But now? She said, "Nothing"! Then the women in the same room asked us to come pray for her, seeing this, she had no doubt more faith! As we prayed for her, she said she felt her heart rate literally go down, and just peace come over her. Glory to God, we then prayed for others, and saw God touch others. What an opportunity to pray for the sick in the hospitals. We've seen God at one time basically heal everyone in one of the rooms. O Father make Your Name famous! Bring glory to Jesus! Let them know that in the Name of Jesus the sick are healed! Thank you for the bodies You touched, but more importantly, the opportunity to speak the Gospel that they might be saved.

Save us O God!

Zeal - Love ablaze by Leonard Ravenhill

Enoch had prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with 10,000 of His saints." If Jesus had entered history like that or had come on a dark night over Jerusalem in a blazing chariot of fire (like Elijah went up to heaven), then the clamoring crowds would have accepted and adored Him. But as the poet once said, "They were looking for a king, to bring salvation nigh, He came a little infant thing, that made a woman cry."

CLEANSING THE TEMPLE

The local folk knew Jesus well, He was the best carpenter in the nation. But now He had stepped out of bounds, He accepted the nomination of that wild preacher John the Baptist as the Lamb of God. He had agreed to let the people mount Him on an ass and enter the city amide cries of hosannah. Now He had stirred the city by routing the money changers and cattle dealers from the temple. For almost thirty years He had watched men desecrate the place. He was outraged at their insolence and greed. He was disgusted that they had carpeted the temple courts with animal excrement, and polluted the place with the stench of urine.

Each of the gospels tells of the whipping Christ. But Luke makes a very valuable difference as he records the events in the life of Jesus. He says that before Jesus had entered the temple, while He was still entering Jerusalem He had stopped to weep over the great city. So we have the weeping Christ before we had the whipping Christ. Since He was about His Father's business at twelve years of age, Jesus had trod the temple courts and had always been grieved and outraged that they were defiled not just with animal dung, but with red-eyed extortioners, cheating money changers and cattle dealers. For thirty years He had been growing in grace and in the knowledge of His Father-- now He knew His mission! And His explanation for this one-man attack on the sacrilege and defilement of the house of God is summed up in these words, "The zeal of Thine house hath eaten me up."

Zeal! What a baptism of this same zeal the weak and wilting church of this day needs. Zeal in this context, is love ablaze. Zeal without reason becomes fanaticism, Jesus was not a fanatic. Yes, His love was blind to all the possible dangers of His mission. This love ignores personal safety, disregards the odds against it, drips, "sacrifice" from its vocabulary; requires no crutches, ignores all danger, is intolerant of sin, but not fanatical.

His was no sudden burst of anger; He had contemplated it all His life, but now the hour had come and men fled before His whip and holy anger.

SPIRITUAL ECOLOGY

"Pollution! Pollution!" cry the ecologists about our food, air, waters, and our auto emissions. But where, o where are the preachers crying out against the pollution in the churches? They heart of Jesus was broken over a nation that had the elect prophets of the Lord as its advisors. But who had heeded these prophets? They had not dined at kings' tables; they, like their Master, were despised and rejected of men. Some were men with scorching tongues, but they were also men with weeping eyes. Ah! but tell me if you can, where are the weeping preachers today?

The cattle dealers in the temple were more interested in selling sacrifices than in offering them. And so today, there are Christians at this veer hour fighting feverishly for some political cause, and yet they are never heated over the wretched filth in their own church.

Will we crusade against uncleanness in the "Church?" If not, better tell the sleepy saints again to eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we shall be raptured. But Jesus will not rapture a ruptured church!

THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD

There are some frightful tragedies in the world at this moment. When "wise" men swept aside the Bible, they told us that we would move into a new freedom for men. Thes wise men have proved that they are otherwise. Other smart men put their brains together to make a bomb so that we can turn a living city crisp in seconds. Then think of the implication of Afghanistan and Iran, the daily bleeding of millions in Cambodia, and the masses waiting to leave Cuba. These are horrible things to contemplate, and yet I think there is one things infinitely worse. It is a sick church in a dying world.

Never has the great U.S. ever been more broken than today. Broken marriages, leaving millions of broken homes. Thousands and thousands of teenagers whose minds are broken with drugs. The people's confidence and trust in the government is broken. All is broken except the hearts of the believers.

We need broken hearts to face this colossal mess. Weeping is not only in order in the pulpit, it is commanded! "Let the priests weep between the porch and the altar" (Joel 2:17). "Let them howl" (1:13). Jeremiah wept over the sin of Israel, David wept…."Store my tears in Thy bottle." Paul wept. John wept. Shall we remain dry-eyed in the most crucial chapter in world history and in our own?

COUNTERFEIT ZEAL

The present lethargy in the church s almost unpardonable. The Jehovah's Witnesses have zeal. The Mormons claim they are gaining more people from the evangelicals than we are gaining from them. The cultists zealously persist in getting a hearing in the streets.

Saul of Tarsus had fanatical zeal. He threw men and women in prison and broke up their families, persecuting them from city to city. Miraculously God cleansed him, baptized him with fire and made him a model zealot for His Kingdom.

It is not enough in these days of such vast worldliness in the church to say that we are fundamental or uncompromising in "doctrine." We must be ablaze with Holy Spirit-born anger ("Be ye angry and sin not." Eph. 4:26). We must feel the hurt of God over the devil's domination of this age. we must apologize to the Almighty that we have turned in our own way, and have been more loyal to a man-made theology than to the exceedingly sober words of our Master. Like Paul, we must be able to say in His holy presence, "This one thing I do"…..

I bear a broken heart over the coldness in the church (including my own!). True, the zealous man of God lives for one thing only: to please God. He is impervious to the opinions of others about his zeal. He cares not what it costs him to burn out for God. In sickness or in health, in poverty or in wealth, whether he is esteemed or despised, flattered or flattened, considered a fool or a philosopher, through evil report or good report, kisses or curses, he is set to do the will of God!

This man sees the church today fouled with showmanship, bingo and bake sales, dances, tinsel and trivia, "having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof" (2 Timothy 3:5). He sees the ministers condoning divorce in high places. Maybe the minister is divorced and remarried himself, making him ineligible for that holy office (see Titus 1:6).

Jesus today sees His church unclean with disobedience, by a watered-down gospel. We do not obey His commandments to "love one another"; or rejoice to act out Matthew 23, "He that is greets among you shall be your servant." If you there comes a man into the assembly with a gold ring, we do give him honor (James 2:2). If he has great wealth but little spirituality, he is still welcomed as a member of the board. We do not insist that our young preacher boys tarry (until they get a seminary diploma? No!) Until they are endued with power from on high!

THE PHARISEE'S PRAYER

The Pharisee who prayed in the temple said, "God I thank Thee that iI am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers." There are many so called Spirit-filled men today, who cannot even pray that prayer! Unjust they are for sure, they pay ow wages and tell their workers that they are "doing this sacrifice for Jesus." Adulterers- there are famous preachers in this awful category. They, of course, have an explanation for their infidelity, yet many are accepted at conferences as keynote speakers. Extortioners-- the radio preachers almost have this as a monopoly. A $25 Bible (God's Holy Word) is offered for a $100 gift! Other books are offered at fives times their cost. "You are judging!" someone will say. Correct, I am told to judge (John 7:24). Jesus says, "Judge righteous judgment." Also I, along with other true preachers of the gospel, am a watchman and so have to warn others. "Also, judgment must begin at the house of the Lord." This bait to get money is an abomination. Preachers whine for money over the radio and television. "For this ministry" they say, and yet much of it is to sustain the extravagant life style, costly airplanes and fixing up luxury bible conference grounds. And now they have joined the Pharisees who "rob widows houses." After emptying your pockets while you live, they ask for your house and estate after you die. What next?

STEALING THE GLORY

This is a day of the personality cult. Men on T.V. gospel shows are presented as having given up so much for the Lord. All they gave up with their retirement from stardom was hell and eternal punishment. Let it be shouted from the housetops that no man does God a favor. Elegant living, etc. for the rich evangelists proves nothing except that they have not left all to follow Him. The Spirit-filled need no status symbols.

The flattering introduction for gospel preachers i another great piece of blockage to revival. John 5:41 and 44 need soul-searching consideration. My heart is burdened and burning. God's house is polluted. The sinners scoff and say of the rich preachers, "Their creed is greed and their god is gold." We need a baptism of holy zeal to get us back to holy indignation that the money grabbers are back in there temple, and that God's heart is hurting.

The church began in the Spirit, now She is operating in the flesh. There is no pillar of fire over the sanctuary. There are no preachers who can hold the hell-bound spell-bound. I am not sure that it can be proved that Nero fiddled while Rome burned. It can be proved that the church is fiddling while the world is burning! The one reason that we do not have revival today is that we are content to live without it.

O for a generation of believers who can honestly say, "The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up."

The Bible

"The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed.

Christ is its grand subject, our good the design, and the glory of God its end.

It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, and prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given you in life, will be opened at the judgment, and be remembered forever. It involves teh highest responsibility, will reward the greatest labor, and will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents."

Breakthroughs

Tonight as we were singing different Delirious' songs on the guitar and while Caleb drummed (songs like "Thank You for saving me" and "What a friend I've found"), we then started singing spontaneous songs to the Lord with keys just going from G to D. Several weeks ago the Lord gave us a song out of a similar time of spontaneous worship, the words are "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty. Glory, glory, the whole earth is filled with His glory, Worthy, worthy is the Lamb of Glory." We've only played it once. However, as I was just playing the chords, I heard Caleb start singing that same melody but with "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" Instead of "Holy, Holy, Holy" we all joined into where the Spirit was leading in worship.

Suddenly I saw a vision in my mind of my children's hearts. I sensed God telling me to prophesy to what I saw. I saw seeds, I knew they were the seeds of God's Word in their hearts, I could see them. Then I spoke the words I believe God was giving me… "I'm going to cause them to grow, to increase. they are going to grow strong and bear much fruit for My glory."
I saw them growing, bigger and bigger, reaching up, reaching for the Sun (Son) and beginning to blossom.
We kept singing spontaneously to the Lord, I felt led to begin to sing/ pray out in tongues.
Abigail who has been praying for the gifts of the Spirit, one being specifically the interpretation of tongues, (though many times in the past has sensed nothing), tonight she received an interpretation from the tongues spoken!
Interpretation of tongues by Abigail:
"The Lord delights in the praises of the righteous. There is no unclean thing in this place. There is no fear here. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind."

After our time of singing we started laying hands on the kids, Abigail first, then Caleb, then sleeping Josiah. When we laid hands on Caleb, he just started weeping.
I was so blessed after we finished, and we just asked the kids what happened in their hearts, in what Caleb said…
Caleb - "I just felt the presence of God so strongly (he then starts crying again). It just kept getting stronger and stronger. It was like when you go in the water and the further you go down the stronger the pressure. That's what it was like to me. I just love His presence. I just want more of His presence. I want to do it (worship) again."
It was much later as I was meditating on God's presence manifesting, that I realized I was 19 before I really felt God's presence so strongly and how it changed my life and gave me a hunger for more, and now here is my son experiencing it at age 9! HalleluYah! My son is a whole decade further on the journey than I was when I first started in seeking God and experiencing His glory! Thank You Father! Thank You Jesus! Thank You Holy Spirit!

While my family and I were in a restaurant in Senegal on our way back to Guinea Bissau the world news came on the television. The news went from the murders and mayhem of Syria, to New York with the shameful disclosure of a US representative who had taken pictures of himself naked and made lewd advances towards women.

Once again the world watching the circus in America.

As many know the day the Rep. made his resignation known (which was the part the news was showing) there was loud heckling and comments made of his foolish behavior (and how true it is that sin makes you stupid and leads you to do stupid things).

Yet I was struck with a revelation. The same ones that were jeering and the ones writing of how disgusting his behavior was (and yes of course this is true it was, but the issue is the way it is said) will also stand before God one day on the Day of Judgment. Think about it friend. The news was showing pictures of what this man took of himself for the world to see, but one day everything in your life and my life will not be before the world’s eyes, but will be exposed before a holy God, Who is called a consuming fire!

We must consider that Day and how we will stand before God and we must remind others of these truths….

Nothing has been covered that will not be exposed. Whatever is secret will be made known. Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. Whatever you have whispered in private rooms will be shouted from the housetops.

"I can guarantee that on judgment day people will have to give an account of every careless word they say. By your words you will be declared innocent, or by your words you will be declared guilty."
(Mat 12:36-37)

Jesus said “Whatever” or in other translations “Every.” We will all return naked before God, everything we’ve tried to “cover” ourselves with will be stripped…

Job_1:21 He said, "Naked I came from my mother, and naked I will return. The LORD has given, and the LORD has taken away! May the name of the LORD be praised."

Ecc_5:15 They came from their mother's womb naked. They will leave as naked as they came. They won't even be able to take a handful of their earnings with them from all their hard work.

There is only One who can cloth us with clothes that will remain and that is God. This was God’s warning to Israel and Judgment for their rebellion that we are to heed today (as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 10 these things were written for our example).

Isa_47:3 People will see you naked. People will see your shame. I will take revenge. I won't spare anyone.

Eze_16:36 This is what the Almighty LORD says: You exposed yourself and uncovered your naked body when you gave yourself to your lovers and to all your disgusting idols. You also killed your children and sacrificed their blood to these idols.

Eze_23:18 "She carried out her prostitution openly, and she lay around naked. I turned away from her in disgust as I had turned away from her sister.

Hos_2:9, 10 That is why I will take back my grain when it has ripened and my new wine when it's in season. I will take away the wool and the linen that I gave her to cover her naked body. I will show her naked body to her lovers, and no one will rescue her from my power.

This is not just an Old Testament truth; remember Jesus’ words to the Church of Laodicea?
Rev_3:17, 18 You say, 'I'm rich. I'm wealthy. I don't need anything.' Yet, you do not realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
I advise you: Buy gold purified in fire from me so that you may be rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them so that you may keep your shameful, naked body from showing. Buy ointment to put on your eyes so that you may see.

Jesus’ warning to His people, was that they don’t lose their clothes, He commanded literally to “guard” your clothes that we would not go around naked and others see our shame.

Rev_16:15 "See, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who remains alert and doesn't lose his clothes. He will not have to go naked and let others see his shame."

We are to be in Christ, clothed in His righteousness, keep our garments unspotted from this world (Ephesians 5, James 1).

May we take advantage of such “news” to remind people that one day, everyone will be exposed, but it will have much more serious consequences than losing a job and ones reputation.

Imagine that Day…. Imagine your life, my life being rewound being replayed, every word, every action, (possibly every thought?). When we thought no one else was around, God saw it, and it was recorded. No one will escape the fire of God’s Judgment not believers (Mark 9:49, Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 3, 2 Corinthians 5:10) or unbelievers (Revelation 20).

May it bring a sobriety in our spirits, humility in our hearts and make us more cautious when we want to get on the band wagon of criticism.

Rather than parade the shame of such foolish behavior, let us pray for him/ them and us…

About 4 months ago Katie found out that her YoungLife leader who helped lead her to Jesus, Steve Ruetschle was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident. He broke his C6 and C7 vertebrae. I saw as Katie entered in (with thousands of others I'm sure,) into travail in prayer. She prayed hours for Steve's healing. They posted a video of his recovery.....a miracle, to the glory of God. In just 4 months..... he is already looking to return to the Philippines with his family where they were missionaries (they were on furlough when he had the accident).

I'm still hurting this morning, still relinquishing the images in my mind of yesterday, the emotions, the reality of what could have been but God chose to intervene. My Dad and I were talking in the ocean here on the coast of Senegal when we both noticed the rip tide suddenly got strong, I was still able to stand a bit but my Dad was now swimming. As I looked at him struggle, he looked fatigued. I called out, "Dad?" and when he looked at me and reached out for me I knew something was wrong. As I too was pulled out by the ripe tide, his body was quickly losing strength and I was pulling, pushing trying to get him past this ripe tide. But it was no use. I lost strength to carry him and realized as I felt panic, that I too was now trapped and we were further from shore than ever. I looked over at my Dad who had flipped himself over and I saw as water was going over his face from the waves. He was barely holding on. I realized at that moment that I was possibly dying too, I was going to die here in the vast ocean with my Dad. I started to scream to shore for help but we were so far it looked like no one could hear us. I realized I couldn't keep screaming or I would hasten my going down as I felt my energy being sapped. I struggled and struggled to swim leaving my Dad, but realizing it would make no sense for me to keep trying, I needed to get help. I could hear him saying in weakness, "Jesus,...... Jesus......" by the grace of God i was some how able to get out of the rip tide with what little I had left and get on a sand bar still some 100 yards from shore or so. I screamed and screamed at the people, "Help! Help us! Help!" Waving my arms. I turned and saw my Dad had drifted even further.
I screamed over and over crying out to God for mercy. I didn't help that my Dad was just talking about Stonewall Jackson before he got caught, and his quote, "When it's my time to go, God knows that time, it will be my time...." All I could see was my mother's face at the news of the drowning of her husband, all I could see was her dropping to her knees on the shore in my minds eye. All i could see was my kids crying. I cried out, "Jesus save him! Have mercy! No! No!" I kept crying, I kept shouting for help, but no one seemed to move, they just stood and stared. I found out later they knew what was happening, but they chose to do nothing, they just stared. I turned again and at times I could not see my Dad because of the crest of the waves, I thought he had gone down,.... Finally a Senegalese man who was walking down the street stripped down and came jumping in... he was followed by tow other men way behind. I turned, and said "God give me strength to go back!" God gave it I turned and swam after my Dad again out into the ocean. when I finally got near, I was shouting for him to hold on, I was coming to not give up. I could hear him crying out in exhaustion, "I speak life in Jesus Name, Life in Jesus." I grabbed his legs and with all I had tried to begin to back stroke holding on to his leg. The Senegalese man came pushing him from the front. As we pulled and pushed, a kayak was on its way, but it was over as we struggled and pulled, we were out of the rip tide.....we were meted with the other 2 and able now to be pulled to the sand bar. A huge crowd by now had gathered on the shore.
I'm still sorting through it. I've had a gun held to my head, I've had someone make gestures of an intention to stab me on the streets. I've been in the midst of gang fighting. I've been in the presence of death before, but not like this. I saw death, on my Dad i saw it on his face, in his eyes, and I felt it come over me. God chose to show mercy, to let us live. The miracle is, the waves in the beginning were taking us down, it kept sweeping over my Dad, but as drifted out to sea, as he kept saying, "Jesus, Jesus" there was literally, miraculously a calming of the waves. The second miracle, the man who finally jumped in to help my Dad, his name is Isa, the Arabic way of saying "Jesus."
There was need to forgive for me, the people that did nothing. That just watched, they heard the desperate cries, no motion, no running to get help, calling someone.... no movement. It was a revelation.
After, as I was processing...... I remembered William Booth's vision from the Salvation Army. It became real, it became deeper engraved in my spirit.
I want to close with giving God thanks for allowing my Dad to live, it could have gone either way. God chose to calm the sea. If He didn't He would still be good, He would still be worthy of praise. We give Him praise for how He showed mercy.

On one of my recent journeys, as I gazed from the coach window, I was led into a train of thought concerning the condition of the multitudes around me. They were living carelessly in the most open and shameless rebellion against God, without a thought for their eternal welfare. As I looked out of the window, I seemed to see them all . . . millions of people all around me given up to their drink and their pleasure, their dancing and their music, their business and their anxieties, their politics and their troubles. Ignorant - willfully ignorant in many cases - and in other instances knowing all about the truth and not caring at all. But all of them, the whole mass of them, sweeping on and up in their blasphemies and devilries to the Throne of God. While my mind was thus engaged, I had a vision.
I saw a dark and stormy ocean. Over it the black clouds hung heavily; through them every now and then vivid lightening flashed and loud thunder rolled, while the winds moaned, and the waves rose and foamed, towered and broke, only to rise and foam, tower and break again.
In that ocean I thought I saw myriads of poor human beings plunging and floating, shouting and shrieking, cursing and struggling and drowning; and as they cursed and screamed they rose and shrieked again, and then some sank to rise no more.
And I saw out of this dark angry ocean, a mighty rock that rose up with it’s summit towering high above the black clouds that overhung the stormy sea. And all around the base of this great rock I saw a vast platform. Onto this platform, I saw with delight a number of the poor struggling, drowning wretches continually climbing out of the angry ocean. And I saw that a few of those who were already safe on the platform were helping the poor creatures still in the angry waters to reach the place of safety.
On looking more closely I found a number of those who had been rescued, industriously working and scheming by ladders, ropes, boats and other means more effective, to deliver the poor strugglers out of the sea. Here and there were some who actually jumped into the water, regardless of the consequences in their passion to "rescue the perishing." And I hardly know which gladdened me the most - the sight of the poor drowning people climbing onto the rocks reaching a place of safety, or the devotion and self-sacrifice of those whose whole being was wrapped up in the effort for their deliverance.
As I looked on, I saw that the occupants of that platform were quite a mixed company. That is, they were divided into different "sets" or classes, and they occupied themselves with different pleasures and employments. But only a very few of them seemed to make it their business to get the people out of the sea.
But what puzzled me most was the fact that though all of them had been rescued at one time or another from the ocean, nearly everyone seemed to have forgotten all about it. Anyway, it seemed the memory of its darkness and danger no longer troubled them at all. And what seemed equally strange and perplexing to me was that these people did not even seem to have any care - that is any agonizing care - about the poor perishing ones who were struggling and drowning right before their very eyes . . . many of whom were their own husbands and wives, brothers and sisters and even their own children.
Now this astonishing unconcern could not have been the result of ignorance or lack of knowledge, because they lived right there in full sight of it all and even talked about it sometimes. Many even went regularly to hear lectures and sermons in which the awful state of these poor drowning creatures was described.
I have always said that the occupants of this platform were engaged in different pursuits and pastimes. Some of them were absorbed day and night in trading and business in order to make gain, storing up their savings in boxes, safes and the like.
Many spent their time in amusing themselves with growing flowers on the side of the rock, others in painting pieces of cloth or in playing music, or in dressing themselves up in different styles and walking about to be admired. Some occupied themselves chiefly in eating and drinking, others were taken up with arguing about the poor drowning creatures that had already been rescued.
But the thing to me that seemed the most amazing was that those on the platform to whom He called, who heard His voice and felt that they ought to obey it - at least they said they did - those who confessed to love Him much were in full sympathy with Him in the task He had undertaken - who worshipped Him or who professed to do so - were so taken up with their trades and professions, their money saving and pleasures, their families and circles, their religions and arguments about it, and their preparation for going to the mainland, that they did not listen to the cry that came to them from this Wonderful Being who had Himself gone down into the sea. Anyway, if they heard it they did not heed it. They did not care. And so the multitude went on right before them struggling and shrieking and drowning in the darkness.
And then I saw something that seemed to me even more strange than anything that had gone on before in this strange vision. I saw that some of these people on the platform whom this Wonderful Being had called to, wanting them to come and help Him in His difficult task of saving these perishing creatures, were always praying and crying out to Him to come to them!
Some wanted Him to come and stay with them, and spend His time and strength in making them happier. Others wanted Him to come and take away various doubts and misgivings they had concerning the truth of some letters He had written them. Some wanted Him to come and make them feel more secure on the rock - so secure that they would be quite sure that they should never slip off again into the ocean. Numbers of others wanted Him to make them feel quite certain that they would really get off the rock and onto the mainland someday: because as a matter of fact, it was well known that some had walked so carelessly as to loose their footing, and had fallen back again into the stormy waters.
So these people used to meet and get up as high on the rock as they could, and looking towards the mainland (where they thought the Great Being was) they would cry out, "Come to us! Come and help us!" And all the while He was down (by His Spirit) among the poor struggling, drowning creatures in the angry deep, with His arms around them trying to drag them out, and looking up - oh! so longingly but all in vain - to those on the rock, crying to them with His voice all hoarse from calling, "Come to Me! Come, and help Me!
And then I understood it all. It was plain enough. The sea was the ocean of life - the sea of real, actual human existence. That lightening was the gleaming of piercing truth coming from Jehovah’s Throne. That thunder was the distant echoing of the wrath of God. Those multitudes of people shrieking, struggling and agonizing in the stormy sea, was the thousands and thousands of poor harlots and harlot-makers, of drunkards and drunkard makers, of thieves, liars, blasphemers and ungodly people of every kindred, tongue and nation.
Oh what a black sea it was! And oh, what multitudes of rich and poor, ignorant and educated were there. They were all so unalike in their outward circumstances and conditions, yet all alike in one thing - all sinners before God - all held by, and holding onto, some iniquity, fascinated by some idol, the slaves of some devilish lust, and ruled by the foul fiend from the bottomless pit!
"All alike in one thing?" No, all alike in two things - not only the same in their wickedness but, unless rescued, the same in their sinking, sinking . . . down, down, down . . . to the same terrible doom. That great sheltering rock represented Calvary, the place where Jesus had died for them. And the people on it were those who had been rescued. The way they used their energies, gifts and time represented the occupations and amusements of those who professed to be saved from sin and hell - followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. The handful of fierce, determined ones, who were risking their own lives in saving the perishing were true soldiers of the cross of Jesus. That Mighty Being who was calling to them from the midst of the angry waters was the Son of God, "the same yesterday, today and forever" who is still struggling and interceding to save the dying multitudes about us from this terrible doom of damnation, and whose voice can be heard above the music, machinery, and noise of life, calling on the rescued to come and help Him save the world.
My friends in Christ, you are rescued from the waters, you are on the rock, He is in the dark sea calling on you to come to Him and help Him. Will you go? Look for yourselves. The surging sea of life, crowded with perishing multitudes rolls up to the very spot on which you stand. Leaving the vision, I now come to speak of the fact - a fact that is as real as the Bible, as real as the Christ who hung upon the cross, as real as the judgment day will be, and as real as the heaven and hell that will follow it.
Look! Don’t be deceived by appearances - men and things are not what they seem. All who are not on the rock are in the sea! Look at them from the standpoint of the great White Throne, and what a sight you have! Jesus Christ, the Son of God is, through His Spirit, in the midst of this dying multitude, struggling to save them. And He is calling on you to jump into the sea - to go right away to His side and help Him in the holy strife. Will you jump? That is, will you go to His feet and place yourself absolutely at His disposal?
A young Christian once came to me, and told me that for some time she had been giving the Lord her profession and prayers and money, but now she wanted to give Him her life. She wanted to go right into the fight. In other words, she wanted to go to His assistance in the sea. As when a man from the shore, seeing another struggling in the water, takes off those outer garments that would hinder his efforts and leaps to the rescue, so will you who still linger on the bank, thinking and singing and praying about the poor perishing souls, lay aside your shame, your pride, your cares about other people’s opinions, your love of ease and all the selfish loves that have kept you back for so long, and rush to the rescue of this multitude of dying men and women.
Does the surging sea look dark and dangerous? Unquestionably it is so. There is no doubt that the leap for you, as for everyone who takes it, means difficulty and scorn and suffering. For you it may mean more than this. It may mean death. He who beckons you from the sea however, knows what it will mean - and knowing, He still calls to you and bids to you to come.
You must do it! You cannot hold back. You have enjoyed yourself in Christianity long enough. You have had pleasant feelings, pleasant songs, pleasant meetings, pleasant prospects. There has been much of human happiness, much clapping of hands and shouting of praises - very much of heaven on earth.
Now then, go to God and tell Him you are prepared as much as necessary to turn your back upon it all, and that you are willing to spend the rest of your days struggling in the midst of these perishing multitudes, whatever it may cost you.
You must do it. With the light that is now broken in upon your mind and the call that is now sounding in your ears, and the beckoning hands that are now before your eyes, you have no alternative. To go down among the perishing crowds is your duty. Your happiness from now on will consist in sharing their misery, your ease in sharing their pain, your crown in helping them to bear their cross, and your heaven in going into the very jaws of hell to rescue them.

Now what will you do?

The test of any theory is whether or not it provides answers to basic questions. Some well-meaning but misguided people think evolution is a reasonable theory to explain man’s questions about the universe. Evolution is not a good theory—it is just a pagan religion masquerading as science.
1. Where did the space for the universe come from?
2. Where did matter come from?
3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)?
4. How did matter get so perfectly organized?
5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?
6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter?
7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?
8. With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?
9. Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)
10. How can mutations (recombining of the genetic code) create any new, improved varieties? (Recombining English letters will never produce Chinese books.)
11. Is it possible that similarities in design between different animals prove a common Creator instead of a common ancestor?
12. Natural selection only works with the genetic information available and tends only to keep a species stable. How would you explain the increasing complexity in the genetic code that must have occurred if evolution were true?
13. When, where, why, and how did: a) Single-celled plants become multicelled? (Where are the two- and threecelled intermediates?) b) Single-celled animals evolve? c) Fish change to amphibians? d) Amphibians change to reptiles? e) Reptiles change to birds? (The lungs, bones, eyes, reproductive organs, heart, method of locomotion, body covering, etc., are all very different!) How did the intermediate forms live?
14. When, where, why, how, and from what did: a) Whales evolve? b) Sea horses evolve? c) Bats evolve? d) Eyes evolve? e) Ears evolve? f) Hair, skin, feathers, scales, nails, claws, etc., evolve?
15. Which evolved first (how, and how long, did it work without the others)? a) The digestive system, the food to be digested, the appetite, the ability to find and eat the food, the digestive juices, or the body’s resistance to its own digestive juice (stomach, intestines, etc.)? b) The drive to reproduce or the ability to reproduce? c) The lungs, the mucus lining to protect them, the throat, or the perfect mixture of gases to be breathed into the lungs? d) DNA or RNA to carry the DNA message to cell parts? e) The termite or the flagella in its intestines that actually digest the cellulose? f) The plants or the insects that live on and pollinate the plants? g) The bones, ligaments, tendons, blood supply, or muscles to move the bones? h) The nervous system, repair system, or hormone system? i) The immune system or the need for it?

Humility is inseparably linked to prayer

Humility is inseparably linked to prayer. To seek humility apart from prayer is futile. The more we pray the more we are in humbling ourselves, declaring to God, "I need You," in everything. To not pray is to say to God, "I'm really not that dependant on You." "I can live with my own wisdom, my own ideas, my own ability to try and love others (whether family or my enemies), I can depend on my own body and health to provide and protect for myself."
Jesus said, "The Son can do nothing of Himself except what He sees the Father doing." Jesus said it is only by the Father that He too (by the Spirit,)"will show Me greater works than these that you may marvel."
Do we desire to see the glory of God? It is linked to prayer in dependance on the Spirit.
Do we need more and desire more grace? It is given to the humble who are found humbling themselves in prayer saying, "Apart from You I can do nothing." (James 4, John 15)
Do we need provision? It is found in prayer, "You have not because you ask not." (James 4)
Do we desire to be a vessel of His love and fulfill the Great Commandment? Then let us follow Paul's example who prayed this prayer for the Ephesian believer, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God."
Do we need more boldness to preach the Gospel that we know we are responsible to share with those who are going to hell around us unless they hear and repent ("how will they hear unless someone preaches to them?"Romans 10)
Then follow the example of the early church in Acts 4 who cried out for boldness and God filled them with the boldness of the Spirit or Paul's prayer for boldness for himself in Ephesians 6:19.
Do we need more power and the life of the Holy Spirit?
Then look at how Jesus taught us how to pray in Luke 11, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?" (literally "who keep on asking (crave, desire, call for) Him.") Or follow the early church's example who were in a prayer meeting when they were clothed with power from on high.
Do we need more wisdom in our daily decisions, whatever they are....? Divine wisdom is promised to those that ask in James 1.
Do we long to see our lost family and friends saved or are you tired of the constant complants of the government and the wickedness?
Hear the command of Scripture in 1 Timothy 2, "I exhort therefore first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires to have all men be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." (look at the context of God desiring salvation for all--prayer!)
Do we want to see our children walk in white in a world of filthiness and wickedness?
Need personal victory over a vice or a habitual sin?
Have a fear or a constant anxiety?
Do we desire to abide in Christ and bring forth the fruit that brings Him glory and that will remain?
Stay in the place of humility and dependance of prayer and find the grace, strength, power and victory you need.

It is a conscience effort, a decision before the day starts to remain in prayer.
Most of us have a somewhat constant daily schedule (at least a skeleton of it).
How can you remind yourself to take advantage of those "mundane" times to call out to the All Sufficient, Lord of Glory and draw near His beautiful presence and find the joy of walking with God. Ask the Spirit for His wisdom and help........ and He will.
Is there leisure time you've constantly used for personal desires only? Shut it off, put it down, come away, shut yourself in with Your Glorious Father. Tell Him your hungry to show you His glory, to make you a man or woman of prayer, to be conformed to the image of Jesus, or for more of the influence of His Spirit, more grace to press in....... He will do it, and He promises, "He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6).

How many more good books must we read about what great things God did for those who wrestled in prayer and saw such great testimonies before we stop reading only and start becoming? Now is the time......the time for change, for discipline, for really exercising faith and not just talking about it. Now is the time to change habits, it will be too late before long, we have just one life, one opportunity, to do what we know we should do, "To him who knows the right thing to do and doesn't do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:17)
Let us look upon the One who gave His all bled for us, suffered for us, bore the wrath of God for us and for our sin, that we might have life, be called His children, and live for His glory and one day enter His heaven forever and ever and so escape the wrath that is coming upon the world.
Am I walking in compromise?
Am I willing to be called a fanatic for the sake of Christ? So be it.
Taste and see the Lord is good.
THE LIFE LIVED FOR THE GLORY OF GOD WILL SPEAK FOR ITSELF
No need to defend yourself.
let us meditate on 2 Chronicles 16:9 and it's truth.

We cover the centrality of marriage and child raising, and address the prominent issues of wives who are physically abused (which is rampant here), the lack of child training (many children wandering the streets with little parental care, or children who have very little relationship with their parents) and the issue of chastity (following up with the first program and the sin of abortion, and the wide spread sin of fornication and adultery). Doesn't the Big Bang theory disprove the Genesis account of creation

Try to think of any explosion that has producd order. Does a terrorist bomb create harmony? Big bangs cause chaos. How could a Big Bang produce a rose, apple trees, fish, sunsets, the seasons, hummingbirds, polar bears--- thousands of birds and animals, each with its own eyes, nose, and mouth? A child can see that there is "grand design" in creation.

Try this interesting experiment: Empty your garage of every piece of metal, wood, paint, rubber and plastic. Make sure there is nothing there. Nothing. Then wait for ten years and see if a Mercedes evolves. Try it. If it doesn't appear, leave it for 20 years. If that doesn't work, try it for 100 years. Then try leaving it for 10,000 years.

Here's what will produce the necessary blind faith to make the evolutionary process believable: leave it for 250 billion years.

A miracle working God

I was reflecting on the many miracles I've been able to witness God do in Jesus Name, from a man's eyes nearly blind with milky, gray colored eyes and seeing them change color before my eyes as they twirled into dark brown eyes in 2005 to be completely healed, to seeing people with strokes who couldn't move their arm or leg instantly healed. Watching a woman dying of liver disease, start screaming and weeping as the power of God went through her body and she felt all pain leave her body, or a woman with arthritus so bad in her arm that was in a brace and atrophied, remembering her yelling, "It's going through my body, it's going through my body!" weeping as the power of God rushed through her and all pain instantly left and she left with the brace in her purse and carrying her cane.... over and over it never gets old, it just feels wonderful to experience God's glory. What a glorious truth we serve the Resurrected Christ! I'm so sad that so many in the Body don't believe Jesus still does this, yet profess that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Are you too proud?

How amazing God deals with us in such personal ways. The question God has challenged me with many times is the question, "Are you too proud to..." it was the question He asked me before my conversion in 1987, "Are you too proud to confess you are have sinned before these people?" And so I responded by walking down in front of about 300 people and gave my life to Jesus. It was a similar question He asked me when I made excuses why I can't memorize Scripture back in 1995. He brought me to a man named Reggie working in a inner city mission in Portland, Oregon. Reggie was mentally retarded and had a hard time even speaking clearly. I saw a list of Scripture addresses on the wall, about 70, and when I asked them what they were for, he said, "Those are our Scripture memory verses." I asked him if he knew all of them, and to my shock I saw this man who could barely speak clearly, mentally retarded, speak all of the sudden with amazing fluidity, verbatim, word for word in the King James, Scripture after Scripture as I pointed to them. I heard, God say to me, "Son, I've given you a good mind, you are without excuse," and upon that I asked for that list of Scripture and quickly set out to memorize them all (and did and it changed my life). It was the question of pride again when I God asked me to began to preach/ speak in front of people (to which I was terrified of).

It was this question again that God asked me a few weeks ago. As I was asked to lead a large gathering of believers in the region of Biombu, (the first known of its kind) people were looking to me to lead. As the worship began, a few eventually began to dance, only a handful. They came out in front of the 150- 200 or so eventually (in an open area with some non believers there watching). I saw this young man, (Bob Bauer caught this photo). He must have been born with something wrong with his achilles tendon, for he had to walk totally on his toes/ balls of his feet. He danced (very awkwardly) unashamed in front of all these people with only maybe 3 or 4 others with him. As God began to challenge my pride, I started to make the excuses, "God, I'm already 6'8, and white, I'm already drawing attention, it will distract from them worshipping..." and pushed the conviction aside. Then God challenged me again, "Are you too proud to dance for Me?" I was gripped with this young man before me and my foolish pride. So finally, this big 'ole white boy, went out in front of all of the people, and danced like David. It's amazing how much warfare leads up to the moment, but the once you obey,.... the freedom and the joy of the Holy Spirit that you experience. Did it cause attention? A LOT, but God spoke to me again, and said for too long the whites have come to preach, but not lead in example in abandoned worship, making the excuse, "it's cultural for them but not for me to dance to the Jembe drum." Let me be a fool for Christ. The question is not if it's cultural, but is it Biblical, and Psalm 150 commands us to dance. The result was amazing to me, all of the sudden I was surrounded by many others who came out to dance with the white man:) God used this young man to change me, and I believe change the atmosphere of the prayer time, as God's Spirit fell and it went on for 2.5 hours, with no one wanting to leave. All I could do was search for him, and embrace him.... I just gave him a long hug. I don't believe I'll ever forget this young man's face, the photo captured it so well. O God, thank You for using the weak to shame the strong, and the foolish to shame the wise. Let no flesh glory in Your presence. Help us to become like children.... forgive us for our pride, our "dignity," our religion, our "image," and help us to be like the Spirit, whatever You say, we will do....we will go, ... we will speak....

We love you Father in Jesus Name....

Whatever happened to the fear of God?

After years of preaching an unbalanced Gospel, and view of God in the American church (and I can testify not just America but in Africa after living here in Africa for 4 years), the fruit is coming forth, and it's not good. So many things arise quickly, but the Word is clear that TIME reveals authenticity. Jesus reveals this clearly in two Kingdom parables, the parable of the Sower/soils and the parable of the wheat and tares. The 2nd soil received the Word with joy, but it was testing and persecution that revealed it was not truly going to last, it withered and died. The tares grew up with the wheat, side by side, planted by the enemy, but over time they manifested it was not sown by the LORD and was to be cast in the fire. Jesus said "you will know them by their fruit."
I praise God for the many God has surrounded me with who are hungry for God, who are walking with God, who provoke me in the things of God and who are eagerly awaiting His coming. Not an awaiting of "O God get me out of this mess" but an awaiting to see Him because they are ready to give an account, and they long to SEE the One Who fills their lives, The One Who is the desire of their hearts and whose lives are all about JESUS. For those that are like this the Scripture states that one mark of their lives is that they will desire holiness and purity.

"Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope on him purifies himself, even as that One is pure." (1Jn 3:2-3)

It is shocking to see how many professed Christians do not want to purge themselves of the things of this world but are rather embracing the things of the world, talking like the world, loving the things of the world. My wife recently has wanted to be a part of Facebook. I have been grieved, shocked and angered by professed "believers" who are not just living lives gripped in the things of the world (and asking for prayer which we would gladly do) but openly flaunting it, speaking of it with little or no conviction and embracing it has who they are and what they do. There has been a shocking discovery of many once strong Christians, who are now not just showing little signs of profession of the Lord Jesus, but are openly writing and living in SIN. Whether through what they call entertainment, or the writing of vulgarity, or the blatant turn to a sinful lifestyle.

It has called us to pray, and to reach out and to beseech. We are to love, but as M'Cheyne said also "love warns." The Scriptures state, "Open rebuke is better than hidden love, and faithful are the wounds of a friend, but an enemy multiplies kisses" (Prov. 27: 5,6). God warned Ezekiel, in chapter 33, if he didn't warn the blood was on his head.

As I have been praying and just meditating on this, and asking God for revelation, I feel He spoke to me very clearly and strongly. God has revealed Himself through His Word, this is the true God, the Everlasting One, Who declares in Malachi 3:6 "I the LORD change not," yet the church for some reason has in their beliefs, dissected the God of the Old Testament and the New Testament and made them two instead of the One Eternal God He is. But if He is the same God (which He is) than He will display the same characteristics in the New Covenant as in the Old..... and He has.

So I challenge you to look with me at what the NEW TESTAMENT reveals of Who God is and the fact that we are to fear Him, ask yourself in the plethora of these verses, "When is the last time I heard this preached from the pulpit? When is the last time I read a book on these verses? When is the last time a TV preacher or preacher on the radio exposited on these verses (even one of them!)? When is the last time my own personal Bible study has "camped" on these verses for a while and I took these things to HEART?" If you are not hearing this, it’s time to either change your place of worship and/ or ask God how to grow in this from those of His children that have been walking in a balanced view of God for some time….

How many times have you heard a message preached on the fear of God? Once? Twice? At all? As Dr. Michael Brown points out if you were to say/ write, "I will pour out My _______" what would you put in the blank? Your first reaction? If you said "Spirit" than you would be wrong at least 75 percent of the time! The Word states that more than three of every four times in the Word of God, when He says "I will pour out my _____" it is in relation to His wrath, anger and fury!
IT'S TIME FOR BALANCE! IT'S TIME FOR THE FULL COUNSEL OF GOD! IT'S TIME FOR A RIGHT, WHOLE VIEW OF WHO GOD IS IN THE CHURCH!

I ask you brother and/or sister, whatever happened to the fear of God? It is foundational to knowing Who God is, and how we respond to Him. It's not an "old" school teaching or tactic for fear or one out dated or walking in an unhealthy view of God, IT IS BIBLICAL! and to remove it (or not teach/ preach it/ embrace it) is an affront to the revelation of God and how He has made Himself known.

Consider these verses (which are not in any way exhaustive) and again ask yourself the last time they were preached, written on, heard, meditated on....

And if your right eye offends you, pluck it out and throw it from you. For it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be thrown into hell. And if your right hand offends you, cut it off and throw it from you. For it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and not that your whole body should be thrown into hell.
(Mat 5:29-30) -Is this how we deal with and view sin? This is Jesus’ command, not a suggestion…. Deal violently with it.

Go in through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in through it. Because narrow is the gate and constricted is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
(Mat 7:13-14) Few....should this not put a healthy fear in us?

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works? And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

TAKE NOTE, YOU CAN PROPHESY, CAST OUT DEMONS AND DO MIRACLES AND BE LOST. THE ISSUE HERE IS HOLINESS, THE PURE IN HEART WILL SEE GOD…

And do not fear those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
(Mat 10:28) - He was speaking to His disciples

Mat 10:38 And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.
- Jesus says in Luke this is daily and without doing we cannot be His disciple, that's cannot....

Then He began to upbraid the cities in which most of His mighty works were done, because they did not repent. Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the powerful acts which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes! But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the Day of Judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to the heaven, shall be brought down to hell. For if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the Day of Judgment than for you.
(Mat 11:20-24) -This is the same Jesus Who said He didn't come to the world to condemn but to save it...

But I say to you that every idle word, whatever men may speak, they shall give account of it in the Day of Judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.
(Mat 12:36-37) - Do we really believe EVERY idle word?

But he has no root in himself, and is temporary. For when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the Word, he immediately stumbles. And that sown into the thorns is this: he who hears the Word; and the anxiety of this world, and the deceit of riches, choke the Word, and he becomes unfruitful.
(Mat 13:21-22)

"He replied, 'No. If you pull out the weeds, you may pull out the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. When the grain is cut, I will tell the workers to gather the weeds first and tie them in bundles to be burned. But I'll have them bring the wheat into my barn.'"
(Mat 13:29-30) - They will mature together, side by side until the end.....

Just as weeds are gathered and burned, so it will be at the end of time. The Son of Man will send his angels. They will gather everything in his kingdom that causes people to sin and everyone who does evil. The angels will throw them into a blazing furnace. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.
(Mat 13:40-42) Everything, in His kingdom, and everyone who practices evil or causes people to sin, this should silence the false teaching, "we are all just sinners and who are we to judge" and no one speaks against evil or sin, or call black black and white white....

The same thing will happen at the end of time. The angels will go out and separate the evil people from people who have God's approval. Then the angels will throw the evil people into a blazing furnace. They will cry and be in extreme pain there. "Have you understood all of this?" "Yes," they answered.
(Mat 13:49-51)

At that time some people reported to Jesus about some Galileans whom Pilate had executed while they were sacrificing animals. Jesus replied to them, "Do you think that this happened to them because they were more sinful than other people from Galilee? No! I can guarantee that they weren't. But if you don't turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die. What about those 18 people who died when the tower at Siloam fell on them? Do you think that they were more sinful than other people living in Jerusalem? No! I can guarantee that they weren't. But if you don't turn to God and change the way you think and act, then you, too, will all die." Then Jesus used this illustration: "A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on the tree but didn't find any. He said to the gardener, 'For the last three years I've come to look for figs on this fig tree but haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up good soil?' "The gardener replied, 'Sir, let it stand for one more year. I'll dig around it and fertilize it. Maybe next year it'll have figs. But if not, then cut it down.'"
(Luk 13:1-9) - Jesus brings a healthy fear of God, He's speaking to all, "you too will die." Again, TIME is a factor, over time (here He says clearly 3 years) this tree doesn't bear fruit, He says cut it down.

Someone asked him, "Sir, are only a few people going to be saved?" He answered, "Try hard to enter through the narrow door. I can guarantee that many will try to enter, but they won't succeed. After the homeowner gets up and closes the door, it's too late. You can stand outside, knock at the door, and say, 'Sir, open the door for us!' But he will answer you, 'I don't know who you are.' Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' But he will tell you, 'I don't know who you are. Get away from me, all you evil people.'
(Luk 13:23-27) - A command from Jesus to ALL of us, "try hard/ strive to enter the narrow door." Why didn't they enter, they did evil.

"Suppose you want to build a tower. You would first sit down and figure out what it costs. Then you would see if you have enough money to finish it. Otherwise, if you lay a foundation and can't finish the building, everyone who watches will make fun of you. They'll say, 'This person started to build but couldn't finish the job.' "Or suppose a king is going to war against another king. He would first sit down and think things through. Can he and his 10,000 soldiers fight against a king with 20,000 soldiers? If he can't, he'll send ambassadors to ask for terms of peace while the other king is still far away. In the same way, none of you can be my disciples unless you give up everything. "Salt is good. But if salt loses its taste, how will you restore its flavor? It's not any good for the ground or for the manure pile. People throw it away. "Let the person who has ears listen!"
(Luk 14:28-35) - Again time, as He says in Revelation, "he that endures to the end will be saved,” this is a command we must ask ourselves regularly, "Lord is there something in my life I have not given up?" For unless we give up everything, we cannot be His disciples....

"Later the other bridesmaids arrived and said, 'Sir, sir, open the door for us!' "But he answered them, 'I don't even know who you are!' "So stay awake, because you don't know the day or the hour.
(Mat 25:11-13) - He was speaking to His disciples when He gave this warning

"Then the one who received two thousand dollars came and said, 'Sir, I knew that you are a hard person to please. You harvest where you haven't planted and gather where you haven't scattered any seeds. I was afraid. So I hid your two thousand dollars in the ground. Here's your money!' "His master responded, 'You evil and lazy servant! If you knew that I harvest where I haven't planted and gather where I haven't scattered, then you should have invested my money with the bankers. When I returned, I would have received my money back with interest. Take the two thousand dollars away from him! Give it to the one who has the ten thousand! To all who have, more will be given, and they will have more than enough. But everything will be taken away from those who don't have much. Throw this useless servant outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.'
(Mat 25:24-30) - Jesus teaching on the character of God and what is to come in giving account of what has been given us...the one who did not do something with what he had did not belong to Him.

And why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?
(Luk 6:46)

A man named Ananias and his wife Sapphira sold some property. They agreed to hold back some of the money they had pledged and turned only part of it over to the apostles. Peter asked, "Ananias, why did you let Satan fill you with the idea that you could deceive the Holy Spirit? You've held back some of the money you received for the land. While you had the land, it was your own. After it was sold, you could have done as you pleased with the money. So how could you do a thing like this? You didn't lie to people but to God!" When Ananias heard Peter say this, he dropped dead. Everyone who heard about his death was terrified. Some young men got up, wrapped his body in a sheet, carried him outside, and buried him. About three hours later Ananias' wife arrived. She didn't know what had happened. So Peter asked her, "Tell me, did you sell the land for that price?" She answered, "Yes, that was the price." Then Peter said to her, "How could you and your husband agree to test the Lord's Spirit? Those who buried your husband are standing at the door, and they will carry you outside for burial." Immediately, she dropped dead in front of Peter. When the young men came back, they found Sapphira dead. So they carried her outside and buried her next to her husband. The whole church and everyone else who heard about what had happened were terrified.
(Act 5:1-11) - This happened to professed believers who deceived by holding back PART of the money (and we hear complaining or lack of obedience to 10%?). Someone may ask, "why was there such immediate judgment but we don't see that today?" It was the purity of the church, when that kind of judgment is absent it is an indictment on the purity of that church. If judgment is not immediate, don't be deceived, it is being STORED UP (this is Biblical!) if not repented of.

The appointed day came. Herod, wearing his royal clothes, sat on his throne and began making a speech to them. The people started shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" Immediately, an angel from the Lord killed Herod for not giving glory to God. Herod was eaten by maggots, and he died.
(Act 12:21-23) - This should put the fear of God in us to GIVE ALL GLORY TO GOD!

and said, "You are full of dirty tricks and schemes, you son of the devil! You hate everything that has God's approval. Quit trying to distort the truth about the way the Lord wants people to live. The Lord is against you now. For a while you will be blind, unable to see the light of day." Suddenly, Elymas couldn't see a thing. He tried to find people to lead him. When the governor saw what had happened, he believed. The Lord's teachings amazed him.
(Act 13:10-12) The apostle Paul (who also wrote 1 Cor. 13) spoke this statement and God backed it up with His power!

As Paul discussed the subjects of God's approval, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became afraid and said, "That's enough for now. You can go. When I find time, I'll send for you again."
(Act 24:25) - How absent this teaching is in today's church,... to preach on the coming judgment and righteousness and self control is seen as "insensitive evangelism" that might make others feel uncomfortable and "turn them off" in regards to Christianity...

God's anger is revealed from heaven against every ungodly and immoral thing people do as they try to suppress the truth by their immoral living.
(Rom 1:18) - "Every." When people live in immorality, they actively "suppress the truth."

For this reason God allowed their lusts to control them. As a result, they dishonor their bodies by sexual perversion with each other. These people have exchanged God's truth for a lie. So they have become ungodly and serve what is created rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen! For this reason God allowed their shameful passions to control them. Their women have exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. Likewise, their men have given up natural sexual relations with women and burn with lust for each other. Men commit indecent acts with men, so they experience among themselves the punishment they deserve for their perversion. And because they thought it was worthless to acknowledge God, God allowed their own immoral minds to control them. So they do these indecent things. Their lives are filled with all kinds of sexual sins, wickedness, and greed. They are mean. They are filled with envy, murder, quarreling, deceit, and viciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, haughty, arrogant, and boastful. They think up new ways to be cruel. They don't obey their parents, don't have any sense, don't keep promises, and don't show love to their own families or mercy to others. Although they know God's judgment that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do these things but also approve of others who do them.
(Rom 1:24-32) - when "Christians" turn to sin and live in it, and continue to practice blatant sin and sin against their own consciences or the witness of the Spirit, and revel in it... it is a sign of God's judgment, when "God allowed their lusts to control them."

All of us will have to give an account of ourselves to God.
(Rom 14:12)

It's not good for you to brag. Don't you know that a little yeast spreads through the whole batch of dough? Remove the old yeast of sin so that you may be a new batch of dough, since you don't actually have the yeast of sin. Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. So we must not celebrate our festival with the old yeast of sin or with the yeast of vice and wickedness. Instead, we must celebrate it with the bread of purity and truth that has no yeast. In my letter to you I told you not to associate with people who continue to commit sexual sins. I didn't tell you that you could not have any contact with unbelievers who commit sexual sins, are greedy, are dishonest, or worship false gods. If that were the case, you would have to leave this world. Now, what I meant was that you should not associate with people who call themselves brothers or sisters in the Christian faith but live in sexual sin, are greedy, worship false gods, use abusive language, get drunk, or are dishonest. Don't eat with such people. After all, do I have any business judging those who are outside the Christian faith? Isn't it your business to judge those who are inside? God will judge those who are outside. Remove that wicked man from among you.
(1Co 5:6-13) - This is a command of Scripture to the church, when is the last time it was obeyed in your church?

Don't you know that wicked people won't inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals, or thieves, those who are greedy or drunk, who use abusive language, or who rob people will not inherit the kingdom of God.
(1Co 6:9-10) - They will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Stop forming inappropriate relationships with unbelievers. Can right and wrong be partners? Can light have anything in common with darkness? Can Christ agree with the devil? Can a believer share life with an unbeliever? Can God's temple contain false gods? Clearly, we are the temple of the living God. As God said, "I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people." The Lord says, "Get away from unbelievers. Separate yourselves from them. Have nothing to do with anything unclean. Then I will welcome you." The Lord Almighty says, "I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters."
(2Co 6:14-18) - How this message needs to be preached in fear and trembling to this generation of youth.... God welcomes us, conditionally. The message that God's promises are unconditional is a lie and not found in Old or the New Testament

Since we have these promises, dear friends, we need to cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit and live a holy life in the fear of God.
(2Co 7:1) This is New Testament, another version says, that holiness "is perfected in the fear of the Lord." Holiness is PERFECTED in the fear of the Lord, it doesn't say "in an understanding of God's grace and mercy is holiness perfected."

Yet, God was not pleased with most of them, so their dead bodies were scattered over the desert. These things have become examples for us so that we won't desire what is evil, as they did. So don't worship false gods as some of them did, as Scripture says, "The people sat down to a feast which turned into an orgy." We shouldn't sin sexually as some of them did. Twenty-three thousand of them died on one day. We shouldn't put the Lord to the test as some of them did. They were killed by snakes. Don't complain as some of them did. The angel of death destroyed them. These things happened to make them an example for others. These things were written down as a warning for us who are living in the closing days of history. So, people who think they are standing firmly should be careful that they don't fall.
(1Co 10:5-12) - These are our examples, the same God, will and does do the same acts and sees things in the same way, with the same passion. Let us heed the warning, "people who think they are standing firmly, take heed lest you fall."

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
(2Co 5:10-11) - We ALL. I remember being in Moody Bible Institute and hearing a theology teacher almost refute this that he didn't believe he would be judged or believers would be judged, that it was just "washed in the blood" and that was it. How unbiblical! How misled! Paul's response? "Knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men." This was how Paul viewed God in part, He is to be feared! Was Paul lacking or not "up to date" on His revelation of God? This one who had a person encounter with Jesus was entrusted to write much of the NT and was caught up to the Third Heaven? What foolishness and arrogance! May we return to the truth as a church!

Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you'll harvest. If you plant in the soil of your corrupt nature, you will harvest destruction. But if you plant in the soil of your spiritual nature, you will harvest everlasting life.
(Gal 6:7-8) "you will,..... you will" not maybe, perhaps, but "you will."

Now, the effects of the corrupt nature are obvious: illicit sex, perversion, promiscuity, idolatry, drug use, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, angry outbursts, selfish ambition, conflict, factions, envy, drunkenness, wild partying, and similar things. I've told you in the past and I'm telling you again that people who do these kinds of things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Gal 5:19-21) - If these things mark a professed Christian’s life, they know not God....

No one should take advantage of or exploit other believers that way. The Lord is the one who punishes people for all these things. We've already told you and warned you about this. God didn't call us to be sexually immoral but to be holy. Therefore, whoever rejects this order is not rejecting human authority but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.
(1Th 4:6-8) - this was a window in how Paul taught the early church, part of that was warning them. When is the last time you were warned? The last time you warned another?

When people say, "Everything is safe and sound!" destruction will suddenly strike them. It will be as sudden as labor pains come to a pregnant woman. They won't be able to escape.
(1Th 5:3) - Let us beware church!

Keep away from every kind of evil.
(1Th 5:22) - EVERY!

It is also right for God to give all of us relief from our suffering. He will do this when the Lord Jesus is revealed, coming from heaven with his mighty angels in a blazing fire. He will take revenge on those who refuse to acknowledge God and on those who refuse to respond to the Good News about our Lord Jesus. They will pay the penalty by being destroyed forever, by being separated from the Lord's presence and from his glorious power.
(2Th 1:7-9) - When is the last time you used this in evangelism or with someone who repeatedly didn't want to respond to the Gospel and wanted to "put it off" for a later time?

Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we order you not to associate with any believer who doesn't live a disciplined life and doesn't follow the tradition you received from us.
(2Th 3:6) - Who doesn't live a disciplined life.... the problem is we are so distant from each other in the church we have no idea what kind of lives we really live just Sunday morning. Is it disciplined?

It may be that some people will not listen to what we say in this letter. Take note of them and don't associate with them so that they will feel ashamed.
(2Th 3:14) Repeated again....

Some have refused to let their faith guide their conscience and their faith has been destroyed like a wrecked ship. Among these people are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan in order to teach them not to dishonor God.
(1Ti 1:19-20)

The Spirit says clearly that in later times some believers will desert the Christian faith. They will follow spirits that deceive, and they will believe the teachings of demons. These people will speak lies disguised as truth. Their consciences have been scarred as if branded by a red-hot iron.
(1Ti 4:1-2) I want to exhort everyone to listen to one sermon, "Eternal security a community project" by John Piper. I first heard it in person while attending Moody as Piper preached it during Founder's Week. No I'm not a 5 point Calvinist, but this teaching bore witness in my spirit (and I know many others) and needs to be heard in the church. It needs to be heard..... you can download it for free…..

Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: "The Lord knew those who are His." And, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity!"
(2Ti 2:19) - This is the mark of God! Everyone who names the name of Christ must depart from sin!

Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom, preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear. And they will turn away their ears from the truth and will be turned to myths. But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.
(2Ti 4:1-5) - O God bring more of a solemness and earnest pleading in Your church again! This is truth You are coming back to judge the living and the dead. Let us be ready, and be found preaching the Word.

although they had seen what I had done for 40 years. That is why I was angry with those people. So I said, 'Their hearts continue to stray, and they have not learned my ways.' So I angrily took a solemn oath that they would never enter my place of rest." Be careful, brothers and sisters, that none of you ever develop a wicked, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. Encourage each other every day while you have the opportunity. If you do this, none of you will be deceived by sin and become stubborn. After all, we will remain Christ's partners only if we continue to hold on to our original confidence until the end. Scripture says, "If you hear God speak today, don't be stubborn. Don't be stubborn like those who rebelled." Who heard God and rebelled? All those whom Moses led out of Egypt rebelled. With whom was God angry for 40 years? He was angry with those who sinned and died in the desert. Who did God swear would never enter his place of rest? He was talking about those who didn't obey him. So we see that they couldn't enter his place of rest because they didn't believe.
(Heb 3:10-19) - This is a warning to the church! To those called "Brothers and Sisters"! With whom is this command being fulfilled? Exhort each other every day? Why? Because sin can deceive you and I and we can become hard hearted, stubborn.

So we must make every effort to enter that place of rest. Then no one will be lost by following the example of those who refused to obey.
(Heb 4:11) - This view that we just walk lazy into eternal life or hap hazardly is wrong. the warning from Jesus, is strive, the word from Hebrews, "make every effort."

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come, and who have fallen away; it is impossible, I say, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify the Son of God afresh to themselves and put Him to an open shame. (For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth plants fit for those, by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God. But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected and is a curse, whose end is to be burned.)
(Heb 6:4-8) - If this verse doesn't put the fear of God in us I don't know what could....

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord." And again, "The Lord shall judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
(Heb 10:26-31) Another one that puts great fear and respect of God in my heart

Follow peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord; looking diligently lest any fail of the grace of God, or lest any root of bitterness springing up disturb you, and by it many are defiled, (lest there be any fornicator, or profane person like Esau, who for one morsel of food sold his birthright. For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; for he did not find any place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears). For you have not come to the mountain that might be touched and that burned with fire, nor to blackness and darkness and tempest, and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words (which voice they who heard begged that a word should not be spoken to them anymore, for they could not endure the thing commanded, "And if so much as a beast should touch the mountain, it shall be stoned or thrust through with a dart," and so fearful was the sight that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake). But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the first-born who are written in Heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, those who refused him that spoke on earth, much more we shall not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from Heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I will not only shake the earth, but also the heavens." And this word, "Yet once more," signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear, for also, "Our God is a consuming fire."
(Heb 12:14-29) - Again the clear connection of the God of the Old Testament and the New as One and the same. He has not changed. It is a common thread of His character....

Jas 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- Speaking to the church.... friendships with what the world loves. Church stop watching the garbage of the world! You are welcoming that into your lives, and into your home! Shut it off! Pray and seek Him! Turn from the world and its lusts, thought life/ pattern... it is anti Christ and anti Kingdom of God!

Brothers, if anyone among you err from the truth, and if anyone turns him back, know that he who turns back the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
(Jas 5:19-20) - If there is ANYONE AMONG YOU.....this is a diligence. They will save their soul from death....

Scripture says, "Be holy, because I am holy." So if you call God your Father, live your time as temporary residents on earth in fear. He is the God who judges all people by what they have done, and he doesn't play favorites.
(1Pe 1:16-17) - Peter also had a "fear of God" like Paul and exhorted the church to have one too....

You spent enough time in the past doing what unbelievers like to do. You were promiscuous, had sinful desires, got drunk, went to wild parties, and took part in the forbidden worship of false gods. Unbelievers insult you now because they are surprised that you no longer join them in the same excesses of wild living. They will give an account to the one who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
(1Pe 4:3-5)

The time has come for the judgment to begin, and it will begin with God's family. If it starts with us, what will be the end for those who refuse to obey the Good News of God? If it's hard for the person who has God's approval to be saved, what will happen to the godless sinner?
(1Pe 4:17-18) - I'm tired of those blaming the government and others for the condition of America. America is in its state as Ravenhill said, not because of the strength of the liberal, but because of the weakness of the church. Bottom line. The church is not affecting the world; the world is affecting the church. It's time for the church to stop pointing fingers at others and lift up their voices and cry out for God to change the condition of the church and examine their own lives. Believers, be not deceived, JUDGEMENT WILL BEGIN IN THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD! It won't begin in the White House or Congress or even in Los Angeles; it will begin in the household of God.

False prophets were among God's people in the past, as false teachers will be among you. They will secretly bring in their own destructive teachings. They will deny the Lord, who has bought them, and they will bring themselves swift destruction. Many people will follow them in their sexual freedom and will cause others to dishonor the way of truth. In their greed they will use good-sounding arguments to exploit you. The verdict against them from long ago is still in force, and their destruction is not asleep. God didn't spare angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, where he has secured them with chains of darkness and is holding them for judgment. God didn't spare the ancient world either. He brought the flood on the world of ungodly people, but he protected Noah and seven other people. Noah was his messenger who told people about the kind of life that has God's approval. God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed them by burning them to ashes. He made those cities an example to ungodly people of what is going to happen to them. Yet, God rescued Lot, a man who had his approval. Lot was distressed by the lifestyle of people who had no principles and lived in sexual freedom. Although he was a man who had God's approval, he lived among the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Each day was like torture to him as he saw and heard the immoral things that people did. Since the Lord did all this, he knows how to rescue godly people when they are tested. He also knows how to hold immoral people for punishment on the Day of Judgment. This is especially true of those who follow their corrupt nature along the path of impure desires and who despise the Lord's authority. These false teachers are bold and arrogant. They aren't afraid to insult the Lord's glory. Angels, who have more strength and power than these teachers, don't bring an insulting judgment against them from the Lord. These false teachers insult what they don't understand. They are like animals, which are creatures of instinct that are born to be caught and killed. So they will be destroyed like animals and lose what their wrongdoing earned them. These false teachers are stains and blemishes. They take pleasure in holding wild parties in broad daylight. They especially enjoy deceiving you while they eat with you. They're always looking for an adulterous woman. They can't stop looking for sin as they seduce people who aren't sure of what they believe. Their minds are focused on their greed. They are cursed. These false teachers have left the straight path and wandered off to follow the path of Balaam, son of Beor. Balaam loved what his wrongdoing earned him. But he was convicted for his evil. A donkey, which normally can't talk, spoke with a human voice and wouldn't allow the prophet to continue his insanity. These false teachers are dried-up springs. They are a mist blown around by a storm. Gloomy darkness has been kept for them. They arrogantly use nonsense to seduce people by appealing to their sexual desires, especially to sexual freedom. They seduce people who have just escaped from those who live in error. They promise these people freedom, but they themselves are slaves to corruption. A person is a slave to whatever he gives in to. People can know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and escape the world's filth. But if they get involved in this filth again and give in to it, they are worse off than they were before. It would have been better for them never to have known the way of life that God approves of than to know it and turn their backs on the holy life God told them to live. These proverbs have come true for them: "A dog goes back to its vomit," and "A sow that has been washed goes back to roll around in the mud."
(2Pe 2:1-22) - We need to really examine these characteristics of false teachers. And we need to really examine the lifestyle (close up not a far of) of the teachers/ preachers we regularly listen to and make sure, lest we be seduced....

First, you must understand this: In the last days people who follow their own desires will appear. These disrespectful people will ridicule God's promise by saying, "What's happened to his promise to return? Ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as it did from the beginning of the world." They are deliberately ignoring one fact: Because of God's word, heaven and earth existed a long time ago. The earth appeared out of water and was kept alive by water. Water also flooded and destroyed that world. By God's word, the present heaven and earth are designated to be burned. They are being kept until the day ungodly people will be judged and destroyed. Dear friends, don't ignore this fact: One day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord isn't slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn't want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act. The day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day heaven will pass away with a roaring sound. Everything that makes up the universe will burn and be destroyed. The earth and everything that people have done on it will be exposed. All these things will be destroyed in this way. So think of the kind of holy and godly lives you must live as you look forward to the day of God and eagerly wait for it to come. When that day comes, heaven will be on fire and will be destroyed. Everything that makes up the universe will burn and melt. But we look forward to what God has promised-a new heaven and a new earth-a place where everything that has God's approval lives. Therefore, dear friends, with this to look forward to; make every effort to have him find you at peace, without spiritual stains or blemishes.
(2Pe 3:3-14) - Where is God's judgment on what is wrong? It is being stored up for a day, it will all be answered one day for. All of it, don't think it won't.

This is the message we heard from Christ and are reporting to you: God is light, and there isn't any darkness in him. If we say, "We have a relationship with God" and yet live in the dark, we're lying. We aren't being truthful.
(1Jn 1:5-6) - John clearly writes his letter with the message of "who is truly God's" and the two characteristics he repeats over and over is, "Are they a person of love?" and two "Are they living godly, righteous lives?"

We are sure that we know Christ if we obey his commandments. The person who says, "I know him," but doesn't obey his commandments is a liar. The truth isn't in that person.
(1Jn 2:3-4)

Don't love the world and what it offers. Those who love the world don't have the Father's love in them. Not everything that the world offers-physical gratification, greed, and extravagant lifestyles-comes from the Father. It comes from the world, and the world and its evil desires are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever.
(1Jn 2:15-17) WE ARE TO HEED, "DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD...."

Those who live sinful lives are disobeying God. Sin is disobedience. You know that Christ appeared in order to take away our sins. He isn't sinful. Those who live in Christ don't go on sinning. Those who go on sinning haven't seen or known Christ. Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you. Whoever does what God approves of has God's approval as Christ has God's approval. The person who lives a sinful life belongs to the devil, because the devil has been committing sin since the beginning. The reason that the Son of God appeared was to destroy what the devil does. Those who have been born from God don't live sinful lives. What God has said lives in them, and they can't live sinful lives. They have been born from God. This is the way God's children are distinguished from the devil's children. Everyone who doesn't do what is right or love other believers isn't God's child.
(1Jn 3:4-10) "Those who live in Christ don't go on sinning..." Again, sin is the mark of whether we know God or not."

We know that those who have been born from God don't go on sinning. Rather, the Son of God protects them, and the evil one can't harm them. We know that we are from God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
(1Jn 5:18-19) - "the WHOLE world is under the control of the devil" Why is there such a marrying with the world with the church? Why is the church so trying to be accepted by the world to become relatable?

READ THE WHOLE BOOK OF REVELATION. THIS REVEALS THE CHARACTER OF ALMIGHTY GOD AND WHAT IS TO COME.....SOON.

How we need teaching on the character of God revealed in the book of revelation, His indictment on the church and the coming wrath that will soon be poured out. And He says again again...."And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that you may not be partakers of her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues. "
(Rev 18:4)

Come out of Babylon, come out of the world, the gods of sexual immorality, greed, lust, exaltation of man, all the things that are rebellious against God and His commands, His ways, His heart, His character. Come out from her my people!

My dream the other night.....

I dreamt I was watching, from a short distance, men build a bridge across a great chasm. I knew in my heart that it wouldn’t be strong enough. I saw as they brought a machine to work on it and the weight of the machine caused the bridge to break and down came all the steel, cement and materials, crashing down into the chasm. I could sense the panic in the air as men scrambled about and tried to rescue the men who had fallen into this pit. I ran to help with some others who I knew were Christians. The man who had driven the machine was trapped under the massive amount of debris, and some how I was able to feel what he was feeling. It was utter panic, darkness around him with the increasing realization he would soon run out of air to breathe if he was not rescued. Buried alive. As I went down with others, I felt the presence of fear and death on this man…. the horrid feeling of dying… in fear. There were Christians looking for him at a middle level, but I knew this man was much further down. I kept hearing in my dream, “Do unto others as you would have them do to you,” and knew it applied to this buried man, that I would want someone to go to all lengths to search for me, tirelessly until they found me. I put my ear down to the ground and could hear muffled cries but it was hard to discern where they were coming from. The other Christians who were with me, searched and searched but it seemed that they came to a place of giving up, and retired from their search. I went down, and the mound of debris was very unstable, it was as if it was going to give way again, there was a very real risk of dying. I put my ear to the ground again; I could hear the muffled cries for help getting weaker. There was an urgency that time was running out. Again, it was as if I could feel this man’s panic, the horrid feeling that death was coming fast and the utter fear of not knowing what to expect, just the knowledge that it was soon over. I could feel terror on this man. As I was pulling away boards and debris, suddenly I pulled away what was like the top of a coffin, in the utter darkness was this man. I grabbed his arm and pulled him out.

I asked God for the interpretation and I believe He spoke clearly. The bridge is man’s effort to God, their effort to fulfill their destiny to try and answer life’s meaning and purpose. Eventually it will crash into the pit of sin, and they will be buried in their own lies. Buried alive, but as good as dead. Alive, but dead in their own sins, awaiting the coming judgment, and the second death. The message and unction from God was in response, to go and seek the lost. As I went I heard at least twice, “do unto others as you would want them to do to you,” I have never thought of this verse in regards to evangelism. It hit me, as I was able to feel this man’s panic and the imminent feeling of death, “What if that was me?” “To what degree would I want someone to come seek me out?” Some other Christians looked for the men, but it was only to a degree, then they gave up. I felt like God challenge me; “to what level are you willing to go? To the risk of your life?” How far in the recesses of sin and wickedness am I willing to go to “rescue” a soul, by going after them in prayer and in preaching the Gospel, where am I willing to go to reach them? There was a tremendous sense of urgency, that time is short and soon it will be too late. I have no fear of death; I have the answer so why do I hesitate? May the Lord give me strength to go wherever He leads, to reach whomever He suffered and died for. O God help me to place myself in their shoes, no fear, only boldness with Your love, to reach out to the most wicked in the darkest pit, knowing that soon it could be too late…. Reaching them in the same way I would want someone to reach me. Even if in that moment, I didn’t even know how near death really was, or what lay on the other side,… in eternal torment.

God help me, God help Your church, to be like Jesus, and to seek and save that which is lost, to do unto others as we would want others to do to us…….

Romans 12:9 Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good.

Mat 6:22-23 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is unclouded, your whole body will be full of light. (23) But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light in you is darkness, how dark it will be!

1Peter 1:15-16 But because the God who called you is holy you must be holy in every aspect of your life. (16) Scripture says, "Be holy, because I am holy."

My heart is burning, and so I feel a need to release what is in my heart, and I’ve asked God for this to be read by any that He would want to have it read by. I’m deeply troubled in my spirit by the lack of discernment in the church. We claim we know the true God, the true risen Savior, and confess His attributes and His Word. Yet with little thought, Christians will go and consistently drink from the cesspool of the world through TV, books and movies and the internet! Some has defined sin as “anything that Jesus wouldn’t do.” Would Jesus put himself in front of the TV and watch the cussing, His Name taken in vain, the sexual sin and innuendoes, scantily dressed women (don’t say that it doesn’t effect you in how you view women or your wife!), the violence, the lies, the worldliness, the vanity and pride, the emphasis on the things of the world, the dirty, corrupted "humor" that is laughed at….. and call it entertainment!? Yet brother or sister, if you and I claim to be a part of the Body of Christ, we are bringing Him into to be a partaker in this as He is The Head! If we claim to be the TEMPLE of the Holy Spirit, how grieved He is when these things are completely contrary to His nature!

Why does the church watch such garbage?

I’m so angered and sickened by “preachers” who actually use rated R movies (or PG-13 or PG) that are filled with this lewd junk for illustration purposes. I don’t care if you think brother, it’s a “manly movie” it’s the very thing Christ came to DIE AND SHED HIS BLOOD FOR, AND YOU CALL IT ENTERTAINMENT?! Woe unto you who put a stumbling block for one of these! Is the church so impoverished that it has to “borrow” from the world to illustrate a point from the Word? Where are the testimonies to illustrate of the glory, the power and the majesty of our God for the Word to come alive that He is the same today as He was yesterday!? Or guise it in some devil enticed lie like “there are principles that we can learn from it”…. it’s an ABMONITATION TO GOD! He is going to spew this kind of compromised Christianity out of His mouth! Let us not be deceived! Jesus said unless we become like children, we will not inherit the Kingdom of God, yet the church holds movies in their house they would never show an 8 year old, it would absolutely impact the 8 year old and open their mind to the enemy, yet it’s “ok for adults”? Nonsense!

I could go into a list of movies I have heard be accepted among Christian circles but I won’t, I will leave that to the Holy Spirit. Brother or sister, these things ought not to be true of THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST! When we stand before His holy presence and He condemns people to hell for these very acts, what will you or I dare say if you have been watching and feeding our spirit and mind with the very things that will cast others into hell fire? Enough! Jesus said if your eye offends you pluck it out! It is better to lose a member than your whole body be cast to hell!

One thing that the Spirit has revealed to me, is what I’m doing make sense in light of eternity? The time I’m using…. Is there someone who I need to pray for who I know is going through a trial, a hardship, is suffering that I could pray for them as I would want someone to do for me if I was going through similar circumstance? Brothers and Sisters, let us not be deceived, what we sow is what we will reap, if we sow to the flesh, we will reap destruction! One short life is what we have…will it make sense in light of the bleeding, mangled body of our Lord on the Cross. If this comes across too strong, then let the Lord be the judge, for I feel holy fire burning in my chest and the unction of the Holy Spirit. Let a brother speak to me if they see me in this area as having a log in my eye. Jesus said judge with righteous judgment. I beseech the Church of Jesus Christ (as I would pray that they would beseech me and hold me accountable) to BE READY FOR THE COMING OF OUR LORD and to consider and meditate on the above Scriptures (a few among a myriad).

The church in many ways shows little power and manifestation of His power as in the book of Acts. I’m seeking for His Kingdom to come in power; I have seen it in part. Who could not say there is not a connection of faith, power, and love to purity of mind, holiness and righteousness? IT’S TIME TO SEEK THE LORD and turn from our wicked ways, and fill our minds and eyes and ears with truth, with His Word. How much time is given to watching junk compared to the meditation and memorization of God’s Word? Is it any wonder there is so little faith?

Are you (and I) ready for His return….. today?

Luke 12:1-3 Meanwhile, thousands of people had gathered. They were so crowded that they stepped on each other. Jesus spoke to his disciples and said, "Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees. I'm talking about their hypocrisy. (2) Nothing has been covered that will not be exposed. Whatever is secret will be made known. (3) Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight. Whatever you have whispered in private rooms will be shouted from the housetops.

Luke 12:35-40 "Be ready for action, and have your lamps burning. (36) Be like servants waiting to open the door at their master's knock when he returns from a wedding. (37) Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. I can guarantee this truth: He will change his clothes, make them sit down at the table, and serve them. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” O God make us pure hearted, and understand Holy Spirit that you revealed Yourself as a dove, let us be so sensitive to sin, for we must, we need to see You. What else is worth seeing more than You?

Buska rostu ku korson di Deus

"Na buska rostu ku korson di Deus" "Seeking the face and heart of God," is what we did this morning with some Guinean brothers. Jack and I have been waking up at 5 to seek His face every Tuesday, but this week we asked if any of our Guinean brothers would join us. 4 more came and the Lord met us! His presence was glorious it was a joy to awaken the dawn singing to, shouting for, praying to and seeking Him. There are already other brothers who want to come next week. There is no substitute for the presence of God. My heart breaks for so many believers who don't hunger for, or experience on a regular basis the presence of God. He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him, and He promises His Spirit to those that keep asking (Luke 11:13). I pray you have a regular prayer group where there is total freedom to seek the face of the Father. If you don't than pray for one, Amen?

Praise the Lord as a young man named Vanelson gave glory to God for being healed in Jesus Name. He came up after a service I preached in very troubled about his families pressuring him to go back to spirit worship ceremonies and his being attacked at night by the enemy. Also his chronic pain in his stomach and back (in his bones). He had been to the doctor and they told him there was nothing they could do for him. He came forward for prayer in Jesus Name. Today he told me the night terrors are gone and all the pain in his body is gone. Glory to Jesus! His smile said so much from what it was (confused and troubled look). Praise God, the truth sets us free! Amen!

YFC staff weekend

Thank you to those that prayed for this past weekend for the YFC staff retreat. I ended up speaking through a mic with another group joining us as well. I spoke of the cost/ worth of the Kingdom of God, the demonstration of the Kingdom and the culture of the Kingdom. There was a good response, glory to God. The next day I spoke on Psalm 90:1-12 and living our lives in light of eternity, and the brevity of our lives. No regrets when we pass over the threshold of eternity! Thank you for your prayers. It was a good time to get to know more people as well. We had some fun memories swimming at a river. We also had a close call though, as Jack and I had to save an African brother who was about to drown..... If we had gotten there much later it would not have been good. The river was moving fairly quickly and you couldn't see your hand 3 inches under water....I was exhausted after the incident. After first the 10 or so that came were quiet at what happened, but of course after some time, it became a war story and everyone was laughing....(I think everyone but Sana (the one who almost drowned)).
God is speaking and we are seeking to follow. We'll share more as it unfolds.
Please pray for us as we head to the Bijagos islands next week to minister for 3 days (and pray for Kate and the kids as they stay behind, thank you!).
God is opening some more doors to preach/ teach....here in Bissau, we will share if He shows us how He is bringing the increase where the seed is planted and watered.

Resurrection weekend in Senegal

Waiting at the ferry crossing as 20 cars and a lot of people get on a ferry that is seeing it's last days.... it's always an adventure.

On the coast....at some dunes and finding a broken, washed up sail broad....

Amy with her second daughter Rohi who was just a little thing when we left Senegal. God is speaking to Amy in dreams where to go and share the Gospel, she is seeing wonderful things happening and breakthroughs (not without persecutions).

Impressions-
As we come back to West Africa, so many things are familiar, however, some things you never get over. Waking up in the morning, hearing the Mosque call yell over the area 2 hours before sunrise, as they chant out the Koran for an hour or more. Or bringing food to our neighbor as we learn she is a new believer but has been a widow for some time with 6 young children. As we bring over basically just rice from our meal many times, telling we give it to her for the 2 pigs she has (one of the only things she owns) so often she is in such need, that rice is what her kids end up eating for lunch. Her house is made up of some blocks and mortar, which looks half done at best. The rooms are dark, bare and a place on the ground for her kids to sleep. She goes from day to day with her 6 kids, by the grace of God, depending on each day literally for her "daily bread."
It is a country of contrasts, from the Fula who are predominately Muslim seeking to be holy by their deeds and doing the pillars of Islam, to many of the younger generation coming up who have "no fear of God before their eyes" and walk the streets in an atmosphere of immorality and sensuality. We have been reading through Romans as a family, looking at Romans 1:16 as the key verse, seeing the Gospel broken from understanding sin (chapter 1-3) to being justified by faith (4,5) to our victory over sin by the power of the Holy Spirit (6-8) to the Gentiles place in God's redemptive history (9-11) to living it out in application (12-16). The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes... that's why we are here, and why you are praying....

The 29 hour+ travel time between DC to Bissau was full of events, closely connected flights and long layovers, and an amazing endurance test for the kids. With minimal sleep for the kids, we know it was your prayers that covered our kids and God renewed their strength, one woman who sat next to them went out of her way to talk how she had never seen such good behavior with the children on an 8 hour flight... we give Him praise.
There are many praise reports, we won't share for sake of time, but suffice to say, we saw God CLEARLY intervening during very important transitional points.
God did open the door with a stewardess on our flight from Portugal to Bissau. She was Portuguese who spoke good English. She was a universalist in her confession, but she was clearly being drawn by God. Kate must have shared with her for 30 min.... she just squatted in the aisle and shared with us. As we prayed for her, she started crying as God manifested His presence and she said she felt heat going through her body as we layed hands on her, and said she was asking God for a sign that morning, and this was a sign to her. Please pray for Maria Joao, she gave Kate a very beautiful ring and has said she is seeking to come visit us in Bissau (with her 4 year old daughter). Pray that God would give her revelation as she reads the selected portions of Scripture Kate gave her.
The last 2 days have been full from morning to evening, as we maximize the daylight hours (we have no electricity yet). We've made purchases for the home, are painting the walls and unpacking.... The kids have already been interacting with a lot of the children, Caleb jumps right into soccer games and we've already had to stop him a couple of time as he wants to give them anything he owns... (not good when you're talking about so many kids). Abigail is already writing down the Creole words she is learning, and Josiah is a trooper.... with his red cheeks and filthy legs from spending time playing on the ground.
Many of you have been praying for Jack our team mate who was facing false accusations and they were making threats.... he met with those in leadership, God has totally answered those prayers, there was a complete heart change in those around them, everything is being reversed and is coming back on those who falsely accused him. Praise be to God.
The country seems to be carrying on as normal.... as much as normal is right now.
We feel totally safe, God is our refuge at all times Amen?

Testimony from Tuesday

A week has gone by since last weeks JPM Showdown. Tonight was the last night I was able to be with the brothers. Many of these guys come from very dark backgrounds and have seen family and friends murdered, and have lived a life of crime, for quick cash. One brother who stood up last week in that Showdown to make a commitment for Jesus has linked arms with two other brothers who stood up also to make a commitment. Tonight one of them testified of what happened this last week to the rest of the 25-30 guys who came tonight. He has been seeking to get employment and has not been able to, and the bills have been coming. At a house, someone came by and dropped at his feet 500-600 dollars of dope to sell. A quick fix for his financial problem. He looked at it in his hand, and said, "No" and turned to the one who gave it and told him he wasn't walking this path any longer, that he had made a commitment to Christ. Hallelujah! This brother with the other two from last week are seeking to hold each other accountable to walk with God, and to turn from the many offers given them (even in just a week) to go back to "easy" money, they are choosing God. Please lift up these 3, and pray that that fire in their hearts spreads in Jesus Name. God is doing it!

God is raising up an army....

For some of you, you know already that every Tuesday night we have a basketball outreach, where we play and break it down half way for the Word and prayer. Most of the guys that come have had a rough life and have grown up in rough areas. God has been moving in mighty ways during this time, so many testimonies of lives that are changing by God's grace and power.

We had our first annual JPM Showdown, a time of competition (3 pt. contest, shootout, and dunk contest), with food and having a good time, but more importantly a call to follow Christ. We had 3 Carolina Panthers with us that evening, Thomas Davis, Nate Salley and Travelle Wharton, dear brothers in Christ who brought a testimony, the Word and a challenge. We also had former NBA all-star David "Skywalker" Thompson come out and give his testimony and a challenge. At the end there was a challenge to boldly step up and follow Christ, and about 20 of the 50 guys that were there came forward publicly and boldly to declare there allegiance to Jesus. We now have official word that we are released by Youth for Christ to go to Guinea Bissau! Hallelujah! Many of you know our journey and why we returned to America (and we now see God’s hand all over it). For those that are not familiar you can read a consolidated version on our blog at http://gb4jesus.blogspot.com/ under January 28^th entry. We stand amazed and humbled at your support of us and just dropped to our knees in tears as we look to leave March 17^th Lord willing for Guinea Bissau. Our hearts burn in accord with Amy Carmichael’s prayer above. We look to see it answered more and more in our lives as that love is poured out on the lost of Guinea Bissau. We trust it is your prayer as well, Amen?!

Thank you for standing with us in this mission! We KNOW that many souls will thank you one day in Glory for your praying for them and sending us to preach to them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For “to those who believe, IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALAVATION!” Amen! It has been an amazing journey through this time of asking God for those that would partner with us in this mission. So many stories - we wish we could share them all. To those that don’t believe in a personal God who takes care of details, we could give them an ear full of testimonies to prove otherwise.

Preparing to leave….

We just yesterday received our last awaited passport (Kate’s) and are cleared medically. We are just awaiting Caleb and Kate’s final needed shots/ immunizations on February 23^rd (the rest of the family finished theirs last visitJ). We’ve been purging, cleaning and soon will be packing. We really appreciate your prayers as we close our season here in Charlotte. It is never easy to say goodbye if it’s for any significant length of time. We have come to know amazing and precious friends here in Charlotte, and we are going to miss seeing them. Four years is a long time no matter how you look at it. Please pray for our kids, that they would especially be covered in His grace during this time of saying goodbye….

“For the joy that was set before Him…”

We know that there are many trials to face, and by His grace we will overcome them. I’m preparing mentally for full language immersion, again. I know Kate is as well. Once again we pray (and ask you to pray) for quick, supernatural acquisition of the language and adaptation to the culture that we might bring the Kingdom of God without hindrance and any stumbling blocks. The joy that is set before us, in spite of the inconveniences of limited electricity there, water problems, language learning, lack of variety in food, the stifling heat, or spiritual warfare, etc… is to see Jesus receive the reward of His suffering as the various ethnic groups in Guinea Bissau declare, “Jesus is Lord!” - being born again of His Spirit to give Him glory and praise, and their love through all eternity. What can compare with that? By His grace and power and your prayers, we will see His Name be made famous through our team, and through our family, and the lives of those who come to Him in Guinea Bissau, in a way that is beyond even what we could ask or imagine by the power that works within us.

The itinerary…

We will be leaving Charlotte Lord willing March 6^th, and then celebrating our 12 anniversary on the 8^th!

We’ll be arriving at my parents house and establish some sense of residency for the sake of mail and our bank. We’ll then be looking to leave for Africa March 17^th; our flight will have lay-over’s in Frankfurt and then Lisbon, before arriving about 1:30 a.m. in Bissau on the 18^th.

We love you all! May He make His face shine upon you in Jesus Name, and may His Kingdom come in and through our lives together…..as we continue to seek His face.

Brothers and Sisters,

I know each of us have a powerful testimony of God's great faithfulness in our lives. Our family wants to hear your stories. I know many of you are very busy with so many things that are going on......but I feel a great unction to write this testimony(ies) for God's great Namesake. As we gathered tonight as a family, and as Kate and I were on our faces with our children, we wept at the goodness of our God, at His revelation as we are nearing our close here in Charlotte. We pray that what is written below would simply encourage you to STAND on His unfailing Word.

Many of you know our testimony of why we came to Charlotte. It was a little over 3 years ago, that our hearts were broken at the news that our mission sending agency and covering had chosen to turn from the revelation of God's Word to esteem men's traditions and denominational identity over the Living Word of Almighty God. We received news while in Kolda Senegal that they had passed two policies, one that stated if you've been baptized in a church that was different in certain beliefs (I'm not talking about foundational Christian doctrine of course) such as a Charismatic or Pentecostal Church that you would have to be re-baptized in a Southern Baptist Church if you wanted to represent the IMB. The other policy is if you spoke in tongues in your prayer closet that you were disqualified in representing the IMB. As I wrote a letter in response asking how could such policies be justified or backed by Scripture, and stating what the Bible does say, there was no dialogue, but a charge to either resign or be terminated.

With broken hearts, yet with the determination to be uncompromising in His Word and the knowledge that we would stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, we resigned from the IMB, we were not going to be "Judas''" and betray our Lord's Word for the convenience of the money and provision that was abundant within the IMB (there was a "grandfather clause" for this situation to those already accepted, it applying to all new missionaries) (this was our conviction and we do not judge our missionary colleagues that stayed within the IMB). After 3 years of service and as we sold and gave away almost all we owned there, and as our beloved dog was dying in sensing our departure (and eventually died days after we left), Kate, Abigail, Caleb and I each took rocks and built an altar in the backyard of our home in Kolda and knelt in tears laying our lives and future before Him. Giving up our dreams of being missionaries in Africa, a new convert who just came to Him and who had already counted a terrible cost in following Jesus (losing (but eventually gaining again) her children and being disowned by her family for leaving Islam), leaving huge doors of ministry in being welcomed into an Islamic village given a hut on the chiefs' compound and the village witnessing deliverance of demons in one of their children in Jesus Name and God saving the life of another new born child of theirs about to die but healed miraculously by the power in Jesus Name in their neighboring village,.... and counting the cost of not knowing how our support base would receive us back at home for becoming such unpopular news within the IMB-SBC. (Please understand we are not trying to seek sympathy any more then when we left all of this, we clearly understand this is quite a tiny sacrifice in light of the Cross and in light of what other brothers and sisters go through all the time in closed countries, we are just articulating where we were). In my spirit, that altar was a declaration to God, OUR LIVES ARE YOURS ONLY GOD and with that a belief that He would vindicate His Word in our lives and bring us some how, miraculously back to African soil.

We came back to America, and knew that if those would choose to not stand with us in this issue with the IMB, then we would gladly bless them, but then move forward to where we believe God was leading us as a family. To those that stood with us, you know who you are. We will never be able to say thank you enough, but please know that our souls are deeply knitted to yours because of what you've stood for.

We have not only been blessed beyond measure in meeting amazing new brothers and sisters here in Charlotte, but we have been challenged, refreshed, and greatly encouraged. From God leading us to serve at Jackson Park Ministries, to finding a church home in Steele Creek Church of Charlotte, to the time of being a student at FIRE school of Ministry and meeting all of the incredible leaders and brothers and sisters there. And God has especially allowed us to see His glory in the supernatural. We have been blown away by His glory. We don't write all the healings HE is doing that we personally witness. Every week we stand amazed at what He does..... Just a few weeks ago, watching a man come in who had glaucoma for some time, holding the paper close to his face just to read it (nearly to his nose). After prayer in Jesus Name, to see his eyes open and to hear him say, "I can see more clearly!" and then read the word on my shirt, and to look across the table and read small lettering and reading the paper there in amazement away from his face by the power of God! Hallelujah! Last week 2 more healed miraculously (both were in chronic pain, one with her back the other with her body), to last night at church a woman on a cane, racked in pain from arthritis through her body, watching the power of God go in her body and her exclaim "O my gosh! O my gosh!" as she moved her leg and squatted saying "I haven't been able to do this for years!" walking out not having to use her cane, healed and declaring, "I have a testimony! I have to tell my grandson!". To watching the greater miracle always, the salvation of souls! Watching Randy, Joan and Tara and others recently gripped by God's Holy Spirit, and surrender their lives, and falling on the blood to cleanse their souls of all unrighteousness... There are other testimonies that we will write about soon, that are waiting to be confirmed by doctors.... God will always vindicate His holy Word! Stand on His Word and He will not fail you!

(and yes we have walked in forgiveness by His grace, towards our brothers and sisters whom we love very much, who have stood against us and made false accusations against us from the IMB-SBC both those in leadership in Africa and those Stateside and who saw to our departing. We pray for them to see His Word is as it is, and esteem it far above denominational identity for truly heaven and earth will pass away but His Word will never pass away and His Word cannot be broken.

And now, as we see we our launching funds to return are at 100% and our monthly needs are about 90% (about 440 dollars needed) fulfilled by those faithfully standing with us in financial support and with prayers (to the amazement in how quickly it's happening even by those of YFC), our hearts are full of holy FIRE by His Spirit to be thrust soon into His harvest field, His Vineyard in West Africa, and to see His faithfulness since leaving that altar in Kolda flying back to America. HALLELUJAH! WHOOOOOOO! We shout with praise and with joy in our hearts declaring, "GOD IS FAITHFUL!"

So we bless you, all of those of you that have stood with us through this time and will continue to stand with us to CLAIM GUINEA BISSAU FOR JESUS CHRIST. (We stand with you in prayer as well!)

We were reminded again by an email sent to us recently, that the shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117 and the longest is Psalm 119 and between them is the Psalm 118 the chapter that is the middle of the Bible. 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and 594 after it. Added together it makes 1188,.... Psalm 118:8 in the center of God's Word. I know verses and chapters were not in the original writings but came later, but let it be another sign of God's sovereignty over His Word (even to the chapters and verses placed within it!) and what does Psalm 118:8 state!

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

As I shared this with Abigail and Caleb (and as Josiah squirmed around), I emphasized to them to hold fast to God's Word, and He will never fail and read to them....

Romans 3:4 Let it not be! But let God be true, and every man a liar; as it is written, "That You might be justified in Your sayings, and will overcome when You are judged."

We spoke before them, "Don't ever forget this and may you declare this testimony to the next generation" if God should tarry.

We are believing to return to Africa at the end of March by God's grace! Pray with us for this final 10%, Amen! Dear friends,

Please allow us to tell you a story…

Guinea Bissau is compromised of many different people groups, 30% of which are the Fulakunda people. I want to tell you a story of one of God’s chosen ministers to the Fulakunda people. Ami was born into a very typical poor and devout Muslim family in a village in southern Senegal (bordering Guinea Bissau). She grew up doing all the things typical African girls do; cooking, cleaning, collecting firewood, etc… life was not easy but it was good compared to what was to be coming in her teenage/ early adult years. At the outset of puberty (and this is true of many, many Fulakunda girls) Ami was one day taken into the hut of an old woman in the village whose job was to circumcise the young girls. Muslim men teach that the Koran says (and it doesn’t say this, but since most cannot read Arabic fluently they don’t know otherwise) that women are inherently evil and all are seductresses who cannot be trusted to be faithful in marriage. Therefore, they must be circumcised that so sexual relations would be painful and offers no pleasure. As Ami entered the dirty hut of this woman, she was suddenly grabbed by the older women in her family and forced to lie down while the woman circumcised her (with no anesthesia, mind you). Some others in the village banged drums all around the hut to drown out Ami’s screams for mercy. After the very painful cutting was done, this old woman collected Ami’s blood and poured it down a ram’s horn which was then offered up as a sacrifice to appease the demonic spirits over the village. The old woman did this and prayed to these spirits, committing Ami to their care and protection.

Fast forward a few years…

At age 13 Ami was forced to marry a man older than her father and a man whom she had never met before until the night of the “wedding” in which she was locked into a village hut with her new husband and two grandmothers (who were to ensure the marriage was consummated). Her husband forced himself upon her, though they had never spoken and she talks of how terrified she was. She began to cry and scream for help but her father stood outside the door and yelled that if she didn’t submit to her new husband, he would beat her. She ended up submitting, and then he let her know she was wife number four. As such she could be ruled by wives one, two and three. Ami eventually gave birth to two daughters, which in a Muslim man’s eyes, is not good enough. He was unhappy with that and beat her regularly. Ami continued to appeal to her family for help, but to no avail. Eventually Ami became too ill to work and unable to “perform” for her husband, so he became sick of her and divorced her. Ami was grateful to be free of him, but another fear gnawed at her heart. She’d been taught her only hope of ever getting into heaven was if her husband spoke favorably of her to Allah on Judgment Day. Without that, surely she’d go to hell and not Paradise. After all, didn’t Mohammad himself say 99% of hell is populated by women? (In the Hadiths)

But God knows her name…

Around this time I (Katie) found myself a missionary working with the Fulakunda. I had been praying for the perfect language teacher to help me. Ami was a neighbor so I hired her to teach me five days a week. As I was struggling with speaking Pulaar I heard the Lord speak, “Katie, all I want you to do is learn the Bible stories. I want you to start in the Book of Mark and go through it with Ami.” With other language studies aside I made my way slowly through Mark, word for word. By the time I understood one chapter of Mark, Ami, because of the exhaustive work in helping me, had basically memorized the chapter.

One day after months of reading the Bible together, Ami looked at me and said, “Katie I have decided to be a disciple of Jesus.” I said “What?” and then she repeated herself. I then got Wade who speaks Wolof (one of Ami’s seven languages) well and as he shared the Gospel, it was confirmed, she wanted to walk Jesus’ path. She went back and told her family her decision. In response they disowned her and took her two daughters from her and gave them to her ex-husband (which is legal in Senegal if a spouse converts to a religion other then Islam). She came back to the house distraught and seeking guidance. We told her the path of Christ is the way of the cross, and it is not easy. We must be faithful even to death. But we also grieved and prayed with her. She was resolute; she was still going to follow Jesus. One week after her husband took the children, he gave them back to her! Soon after this, Ami’s baby Rohi came down with a painful boil on her temple. We told her to go lay hands on her and pray in Jesus’ Name. She did and Rohi was miraculously healed! You can imagine how much this confirmed and strengthened her faith. And God’s love and plans for her are beyond comprehension…

A day or two later Ami came running to our home as fast as she could and crying, “Katie, Katie, God spoke to me! Ami! God spoke to me! He showed me a vision of a tree and hundreds of people sitting under the tree and I was sharing with them the Bible stories you have taught me. And God said to me that He was giving me a great inheritance of souls!” Tears were streaming down both of our faces and we began to praise Him!! He is so good! Ami has since been instrumental in leading 150 Muslim background believers to Jesus! She is also now being used to help translate the Bible in two African languages! What an incredible honor for Wade and me to have a part in seeing souls come into the Kingdom of God. We long for more happy endings in Guinea Bissau just like this one! This is the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that transforms lives and brings us into a dynamic, intimate relationship with God! May Jesus receive the reward of His sufferings! This is why God is using you to send us, that they may rejoice with us before the throne of God.

Blessings on you in Jesus Name! I trust that you are doing great in Him. My family and I have been so grateful for His faithful guidance in our lives.

A few years ago God guided us to Senegal, West Africa – where we served Him for 3 years and there is now a Fulakunda church planted which is growing. Starting with Ami, just one believer, coming to Christ from a Muslim background – she has now multiplied to 20 others in only 2 years – all converted from Islam!

Leaving Africa, God guided us to Charlotte and we rejoice in the ways we’ve seen His glory here! The lives He has touched in Jackson Park and the many things He has been teaching us during this time. Its been an honor being part of and serving the Steele Creek Church of Charlotte family, ministering to youth, children, and reaching out to the community. By His grace we’ve witnessed over a hundred souls surrender, give their hearts to Jesus, and many others touched by Him in healing, deliverance and discipleship. What a mighty God we serve!

The Vision

And now He has shown us the next step! About 2 weeks ago, God revealed to us that He was calling us back to West Africa, to the country of Guinea Bissau! I can personally testify that when He spoke this into my heart, that my body at times could hardly contain the joy welling up in me!

We have had the privledge of ministering already in Guinea Bissau and basically every time we were there we saw God’s amazing power, whether through souls surrendering to Jesus, exorcisms, healings or in discipleship. The harvest is ripe! And now is the time! Why is this such a crucial hour for Guinea Bissau? Let me give you some reasons.....

Guinea Bissau has come through many wars and coups and has been ravaged as a country and so many things have shown that they are not the answer. It is a perfect time to proclaim that JESUS IS THE ANSWER! In the face of so much violence what a time to proclaim the Prince of Peace, in a time of such distrust what a time to proclaim the One Who is perfect and totally trustworthy!

It is a poor country, and we know God has said He has “chosen the poor to be rich in the faith.” Money is not a distraction, or focusing on the economy, Jesus can become so real to them as their PROVIDER (with no real financial security), as their DELIVERER (with so much fear from spirits and witchcraft and so many tormented by demons), as their HEALER (with such poor medical help and facilities), but of course most of all as their LORD and SAVIOR (because the answer is not in Islam or Animism (as many of them are seeing), their is no forgiveness or hope of salvation apart from Jesus Christ).

The family that we will be working with, Jack and Polly Wilson, have been used in such amazing ways by God – see: jackandpollywilson.com They are with Youth for Christ and have started a youth center that ministers to about a thousand youth/ children every day, but also have a school that is teaching these young people skills (such as teaching them English, how to read, computer skills and others) and the school has such a reputation now that it has gotten the notice of the government (they even had one of the former presidents wife in their school). They are training tomorrows leaders, and have now started a 3 year Bible school to raise up ministers of the Gospel and have invited me to be a part of that teaching and equipping. In fact, Jack has invited me to not only teach, but to take the students out to preach the Kingdom of God, to model it out in the villages, to pray for the sick and the demon bound, to model it, and to see MULTIPLICATION by them then doing it and going out... Biblical discipleship the way Jesus did it!

Does that sound as exciting to you – as it does to me?! Hallelujah!!

We have felt led to apply with Youth for Christ, to go under the same covering as Jack and Polly (and their two kids are Eleazer and Eden). Obviously it will be different this time, we will look to God to touch hearts to PARTNER with us financially, as well as prayer support to see this happen. Would you pray and ask if God is asking you to sow into this harvest field? I pray you feel the same level of expectancy and excitement that I/ we feel in this wide open door of ministry and proclaiming the Kingdom of God to the people of Guinea Bissau.... but we cannot do it alone. We need those that will covenant with us by prayer and finances to see this come to pass!

The vision is to see Guinea Bissau won for Christ and it to be a launching/ sending country of NATIONAL missionaries to bring the Gospel to the surrounding Muslim countries.

Will you believe God with us and stand for this to come to pass?

We are need of a monthly support base in this.... and every widow’s mite will be used to glorify God! We are being encouraged to raise about $5,000 a month (this includes medical insurance under Youth for Christ, this is everything for us as a family to serve). We are also looking to buy a 4 x 4 truck to get the five of us around the city (not to mention all the villages). For any that would want to just give a one time gift, it would be a great blessing for it to go towards this. (All gifts are tax deductible through Youth for Christ).

This is not easy for me even to ask (this is definitely out of my comfort zone), God knows my heart. But I know that this is His Kingdom work, and we are all a part of it, some are sent and some do the sending. We are looking to be sent, departing for West Africa during March/April of 2009 (in 10/11 months!!)

Thank you for bringing this before the Father in Jesus Name. We love you and we thank God for you in our lives! May He continue to pour out His blessings, grace and power upon you and your family as you seek to advance His Kingdom where He has posted you!
